Player Bio

Born in Moresby, Chad Soper is a Papua New Guinean cricketer who grew up on the New South Wales Coast and honed his cricketing skills there only. 

A right-arm medium-pace bowler, Soper made his List-A debut for PNG in 2015-17 in the ICC World Cricket League Championship. After getting groomed in the domestic setup, Soper made his T20I debut for PNG against Afghanistan in the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament. 

He actually announced his arrival in his very second ODI game, where he took his first international five-wicket haul and won the game for his nation. Soper grabbed 6/41 and was declared the Man of the Match for his scintillating bowling performance.

By 2018, he was a regular feature in the PNG side and was named in the squad for the 2018-19 ICC World Twenty20 East Asia-Pacific Qualifier tournament, It was a memorable event for Soper who finished as the leading wicket-taker for PNG, with 10 scalps in six matches.

Ahead of the 2021 ICC World T20 Tournament, Soper was included in the PNG squad. They have a promising team and Soper is one of the key players for them and has to deliver at the biggest stage of them all…
