Player Bio

Predominantly a red-ball cricketer, Kurtis Patterson is a classy middle-order batsman who likes to bat for longer periods of time. Patterson arrived at the domestic circuit in 2011 with a bang and made history on his debut. He smashed 151 on his Marsh Shield debut for New South Wales to become the youngest player ever to score a century in Sheffield Shield history at 18 years and 206 days old.

The Hurstville-born batter gradually made progress and had a breakout season in 2015-16 Sheffield Shield amassing 757 runs and ended as the leading run-scorer for his state. The wait was over as Patterson earned his maiden call-up to the national side after 8 years of making his domestic debut. He made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in January 2016 and scored 30 runs in the landslide victory. In just his second Test in the same series, he scored his maiden ton as Australia wrapped up the series.

After his debut for the Baggy Greens, Patterson joined Perth Scorchers after spending four seasons with the Thunders and would be looking to set the tone at the top of the order for the Men in Orange.
