Player Bio

Tayyab Tahir is a right-handed middle-order batsman and he can occasionally bowl handy leg-breaks as well.

Over the years, he has represented teams like Karachi Kings, Lahore Eagles, Multan Sultans, and many more. He has also been an occasional part of the national squad of the Pakistan Cricket team.

Tahir grew up in a small village of Thoon near Sarai Alamgir, where his initial cricket began with a tape ball. He was encouraged to pursue cricket by his father and uncle, and eventually moved to Lahore at the age of 14 in 2007. He joined the P&T Gymkhana cricket club, where he had the opportunity to play alongside former international all-rounder Abdul Razzaq.

In December 2018, he got his first-ever breakthrough as he made his T20 debut for Lahore Whites against Peshawar in the National T20 Cup, he impressed by scoring a half-century.

His determination and consistent performance led to his inclusion in Central Punjab's squad for the 2020–21 Pakistan Cup, where he emerged as the Batsman of the Tournament.

In October 2021, he scored his maiden first-class century in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, further solidifying his reputation as a reliable batter.

Tahir's phenomenal run in the domestic circuit led him to PSL selections.

In December 2022, he was picked by Karachi Kings for the 2023 PSL season, marking his debut in the league. He made an immediate impact by scoring a half-century against Multan Sultans in his debut match.

In the 2025 PSL Draft, Lahore Qalandars initially picked him, but Multan Sultans exercised their Right to Match (RTM) card to retain him, reflecting his value in the T20 format.

The fruits started to bore Tahir, he proved age is just a number for dreams. At the age of 30, he made his T20I debut against Afghanistan in March 2023. Subsequently, he earned his ODI cap in November 2024 against Zimbabwe.

In the recent performance, he has showcased his batting prowess. He is capable of handling pressure, and his technique to bat and aggressive style help him make the best out of the situation.
