Amit Singh won the Scorpio Speedster contest in 2003 and made it to the Gujarat side the next year. A medium pacer who operates as a change bowler, he had a few good outings in his fourth and fifth seasons in first-class cricket.
However, Amit Singh came to prominence when he made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals in 2009 South Africa. He was impressive in his first couple of matches and picked up seven wickets. The 30-year-old is back with the franchise for IPL 2012 after working on his bowling action at the National Cricket Academy.
