Player Bio

A bowling all-rounder by profession, Charlie Morris is an English cricketer who plays for Worcestershire.

He is a product of King’s College, Taunton- the school which has nurtured the skills of current England wicket-keeper, Jos Butler.

Morris made his first class debut for Worcestershire in 2012, and was generally known for his pace and accuracy with his line and length. The speedster scalped 56 wickets in his first full season for Worcestershire to help them gain promotion to Division One. However, Morris’s progress as a cricketer was halted when the all rounder was subjected to illegal bowling action during the 2015 county season.

The Hereford born remodeled his action and made a comeback into the domestic circuit, but it was evident that Morris was not the same bowler anymore. Due to the remodeling, his speed decreased and he was less effective as a pace bowler. Morris only managed to grab 11 wickets in the entire 2016 county season and as a result he did not feature in any first team cricket in 2017.

Charlie Morris could have been an England player by now had he not gone for a revamped bowling action. Morris had all the skills of an all rounder that would have made him a star in the England dressing room.
