Player Bio
A prolific run-getter from Delhi, Unmukt Chand led India to the ICC Under-19 World Cup title in 2012. The right-hand batsman made headlines when he scored 151 against Railways in the Ranji Trophy as a 17-year-old. A cricketer with a calm temperament, he is a big match player and has a knack for coming up with big scores in crucial situations. He played a crucial innings in Delhi Daredevil’s win over KKR in CLT20, 2012. He was signed by the Delhi Daredevils prior to IPL 2011 and picked up by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2014 edition of the IPL. Mumbai Indians then acquired Chand during the first trading window in 2015 and he played six games for them in the eighth edition. Though he made one half-century against Royal Challenger Bangalore, a string of low scores and tough competition meant the youngster could not hold on to his spot. With the team retaining its core, Chand will get more opportunities in the ninth edition and will be expected to hold his own if and he gets his opportunity.
