Player Bio

Aminul Islam belongs to a rare breed of leg-spinners in the Bangladesh national team who has set his eyes in red-ball cricket for the Tigers. A team that lacks a good leg-spinning talent, the youngster has been a revelation since his arrival at the international stage.

The Shariatpur-born leggie arrived at the domestic circuit in February 2018 when he was just 18 years old and immediately impressed one and all earning his maiden international cap a year later. He made his debut in a T20I fixture against Zimbabwe on September 18th, 2019, and scaled two vital wickets in the 39-run victory.

Aminul is yet to prove his mettle as a bowler despite playing in a handful of international matches for the Tigers. He is even yet to prove his efficiency in first-class cricket appearing in just two matches to date.  Selected in the T20 squad against Zimbabwe in July 2021, the leggie would be eager to play against the same team, he exploited on his debut.

At the age of 21, Aminul would be hopeful of getting some international matches under his belt but failing at the top level will certainly be a big blow to the youngster’s confidence.
