Player Bio

A force in the middle order for Papua New Guinea, Hiri Hiri has been a former U-19 cricketer and a current international player for PNG, who plays both ODI and T20I formats. Apart from being a staggering middle-order bat, Hiri is also an equally impressive off-break bowler and a gun fielder.

Hiri donned the Under-19 colours for PNG during the Junior World Cup of 2014, played in the United Emirates Arabs. The batter had an under-par tournament, where he played six matches and scored 87 runs - averaging just a mere 14.50.

The PNG cricketer’s numbers were that wobbling but his virtuoso enchanted too loud. Soon, Hiri made his List A debut in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship, in November 2015, against Nepal.

Later in 2016, he made his T20I debut against Ireland in Australia. His ODI debut came versus Hong Kong during the Papua New Guinea tour of Hong Kong, following that summer. He was also in the squad for the 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in UAE.

In 2021, Hiri was named in Papua New Guinea's squad for the T20 World Cup, to be played in Oman and UAE. The allrounder is quite experienced when it comes to playing in the Gulf conditions, and he would like to thump his class in the pinnacle competition.
