No Mohammad Nabi & Naveen-ul-Haq for Afghanistan against Netherlands

Star player Mohammad Nabi and pacer of international fame Naveen-ul-Haq have chosen to drop out from Afghanistan’s ODI series against the Netherlands that begins on January 21 in Doha. Afghanistan have chosen to call up four uncapped players for the series and have included names like Fazalhaq Farooqi who have already played in the Abu Dhabi T10 league. Nabi and Naveen have given their own individual series from staying away from the series. While Nabi has paved way for the younger generation, Naveen has asked for leave to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup that is scheduled to be hosted later this year in Australia. Alongside Farooqi, Afghanistan has called up Riaz Hassan, Mohammad Saleem Safi and Shahidullah Kamal. All three of them are promising performers in the domestic cricket with a very promising future. Kamal for example has already made his Test debut and has been raking runs in the domestic set-up for a good four-five years. The three match series is supposed to a part of the ICC Super League structure that decides on the qualification for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
