Langer’s reputation as a white ball coach had risen after his exploits with the Perth Scorchers where he won three Big Bash League titles. He was then graduated to the role of Australia head coach in the aftermath of the infamous Sandpaper Gate. He was a big part of reviving the ethos of Australian cricket and ultimately left after winning the T20 World Cup and Ashes series.
