The fifth season of the UAE T10 league is entering its business end and the fortunes of four teams such as the Deccan Gladiators, the Delhi Bulls, the Team Abu Dhabi, the Bangla Tigers are at stake. The playoff will kick off from today, December o3 with the first qualifier between the Deccan Gladiators and the Delhi Bulls. The winner of this contest will earn a direct entry into the final of the tournament while the loser will not go out of the race and instead will get another shot to make way to the final. However, the next contest of eliminator between the Team Abu Dhabi and the Bangla Tigers will not have similar consequences and the loser of the game will be knocked out of the tournament. On the other hand, the winner will have to fight one more round of battle with the loser of the first qualifier in order to make an entry to the final. The final of the tournament will be played on December 04 in Abu Dhabi. Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been sensational with the bat for the Delhi Bulls and the side will expect him to maintain his batting form in the final rounds of the tournament. He is the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 310 runs and has smashed numerous swashbuckling innings to help the Bulls come so far ahead in the tournament. He has hit 28 sixes and is second on the list of batsmen with the most number of sixes in the tournament after Liam Livingstone, who tops the chart with 29 six. On the other side of the fence, the Deccan Gladiators will be relying on their talisman Wanindu Hasaranga to keep his purple patch in white-ball cricket going. He has been superb in the tournament and has not been able to be read by batsmen in the recent past. He achieved a staggering bowling spell where he took as many as five wickets for just eight runs in the season where he has taken 18 wickets in total.

Moeen Ali was in some terrific touch while playing for Northern Warriors against Team Abu Dhabi in the T10 League 2021. Chasing 146 in 10 overs, the Northern Warriors rode on an emphatic first wicket partnership of 146* between Kennar Lewis and Moeen to etch a win by 10 wickets. While Lewis struck 65* off 32, Ali stole away the show with an unbeaten 23-ball 77 which included nine sixes and three fours during the course. Earlier, in the day, Team Abu Dhabi rode on an aggressive knock from Ingram who notched up 61 in 25 deliveries, a knock comprising five maximums and as many fours to put 145/6 in 10 overs. Oshane Thomas was hit for 25 runs in two overs that he bowled for his side. The Warriors have only managed to win two out of the seven matches that they have played while Team Abu Dhabi have won five out of the seven matches that they have featured in the tournament so far. Team Abu Dhabi will now take on The Chennai Braves while Norther Warriors will be up against Deccan Gladiators in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Former Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir has pulled out of the T10 League after getting affected by Covid-19. The left-arm pacer in a social media post wrote, “hi everyone just wanted to say m I am not playing T10 league this year because I got affected with the covid but now I am fine ALHUMDULILLAH just need prayers for the speedy recovery.” The tournament is slated to begin on Friday (November 19, 2021) and Amir was a part of Bangla Tigers which also comprise the likes of Faf du Plessis, Hazratullah Zazai and James Faulkner. The tournament will commence on Friday with Norther Warriors taking on Delhi Bulls in the first match of the day which will be followed by the encounter between Team Abu Dhabi and Bangla Tigers in Abu Dhabi while the final will be held on December 4 at the same venue. The T10 league 2021-22 is slated to begin on Friday (November 19) with Northern Warriors taking on Delhi Bulls in the first match of the day in Abu Dhabi and this will be followed by the clash between Team Abu Dhabi and Bangla Tigers at the same venue. Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has been named as the skipper and the icon of the Bangla Tigers ahead of Abu Dhabi T20 league. Du Plessis in a statement said that he is pretty excited about joining the side and also lauded the new format. “It is an exciting new format to be part of. I am looking forward to joining forces with some of the world’s biggest names in this league and representing team Bangla Tigers,” Du Plessis said in a release. “It is going to be a thrilling time for the game of cricket. It’s heart-warming to see leagues like T10 putting in so much hard work and offering such exciting formats for sports enthusiasts. I can’t wait to get going.” Bangla Tigers owner Mohammad Yasin Chowdhury also expressed his excitement on having “champion player” like Faf in the side. “It is terrific to have a world-class player like Faf in our squad. We have all seen his exploits for South Africa in various formats. He is a champion cricketer,” Chowdhury said. The tournament is slated to take place from November 19 to December 2 at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium. Du Plessis is an experienced captain having led the South African team in all three formats.

The Abu Dhabi T10, a franchise-based 10 overs a side tournament will have its biggest edition this season in terms of duration. The management announced that the fifth edition of the league would be held from November 19 to December 4 in the United Arab Emirates’ capital. The 15-day tournament to be held at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, would be the longest in duration. The tournament has been stretched due to the extended weekend holiday caused by UAE's 50th National Day Celebration, which falls on December 2. Speaking at the time of the announcement, Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of Ten Sports Management (TSM), owners of the T10 League, said."It is most heartening to see the world's top cricketers in this hugely popular format.”The upcoming cricketers can seize the advantage of the platform to rub shoulders with the best in the business," he added. The fourth edition of the tournament, held after a lot of rescheduling caused by the pandemic in 2020, ran from January- February this year. Northern Warriors defeated Delhi Bulls to emerge as champions. The idea behind keeping the league in October-November is the fact that the T20 World Cup, scheduled in 2021, to be originally hosted by India, might be shifted to UAE as well and it is supposed to be finished by November 15.
