Harsh Beniwal (Captain, Punjab Veers): Yes we played well. Our team worked our way up. After we lost the last match, we planned for this. Our whole team did good today.
19:40 IST and Local Time- Umang Sethi has played an outstanding knock of 66 and he remained unbeaten in the end. But it won't matter as the Punjab Veers have won the game by 45 runs. They were clinical with the bat early and set a massive target and the Bangalore Bashers never looked like chasing it down.
Umang Sethi started off the innings well as he came in as an impact player but he didn't find any great support from the other end. Ankit Kumar was dismissed by Arshad while Tanush was sent back by Choudhary. Sangwan did get into his 20's but didn't convert it into a big knock.
Karanjeet Singh Shah played a blistering cameo of 29 runs but the target was far ahead of the reach for the Bangalore Bashers. Umang was running out of partners at that stage as the run rate kept creeping up. With three overs remaining in the innings, Banglore needed 94 runs from 18 balls.
Ankit Nagar and Arshad got the early breakthroughs while Vishal along with Khurana and Bisht picked up two wickets each while skipper Harsh Beniwal also picked up a wicket. The bowlers did give away some runs but they kept picking up the wickets from time to time which meant that the Bashers never got any momentum in their innings.
