The last ball went for a maximum but they fell short by a whisker. With this win, Bengaluru Blasters go to the top of the points table while Gulbarga Mystics stay at fourth place.
Earlier in the game, Gulbarga Mystics won the toss and elected to field. Vyshak Vijaykumar removed the in-form Chethan LR for 7 runs in the second over.
Abhishek Prabhakar then continued from where he left off in the last game. Removed S Rakshith, Shubhang Hegde and Aniruddha Joshi in quick succession.
He also ran out Mayank Agarwal with an acrobatic effort off his own bowling. Suraj Ahuja and Naveen MG gave the innings some impetus and helped the Bengaluru Blasters recover from 51/6.
They added 49 runs for the 7th wicket. To take the team towards 100-run mark. Ahuja then partnered with Kranthi Kumar to add 20 runs for the 8th wicket. Kranthi remained unbeaten on 16 off 14 while Niranjan Naik, who came in as a substitute, made 12 off 9 as the Blasters finished on 153/9 from their 20 overs.
Vyshak Vijaykumar and Abhishek Prabhakar picked up three wickets apiece. Monish Reddy and Praveen Dubey got one wicket each.
In reply, Gulbarga Mystics got off to a fine start. Luvnith Sisodia and Devdutt Padikkal added 77 runs in the first 10 overs of the chase.
Padikkal fell on the last ball of the 10th over for 40. R Smaran and Sisodia then added 34 off 30 before Smaran was cleaned up by Lavish Kaushal.
The Blasters then got two wickets in quick succession as Praveen Dubey and Sisodia fell in the space of 11 balls.
In the last over, the Mystics needed 17 runs but they could only make 14 and despite Ritesh Bhatkal's last ball six, they fell short by 2 runs.
