Milestone
That's all from the first game of today's double-header in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20. Stay tuned for the second game, as the clash between the Bengaluru Blasters and Mangalore Dragons is about to begin. Switch tabs and join our coverage! For now, this is Deepak Prakash taking your leave on behalf of scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
Karun Nair (Mysore Warriors Captain): "Yeah, it feels great. As I've mentioned, we were very close in the first few games as well. We didn't play badly to lose those matches; we just ended up on the wrong side. In the last three games, we've played excellent cricket and come out on top. I'm really happy with how the boys are performing.

I believe, at least in my view, that to win tournaments, you can't rely on individuals alone. The whole team needs to perform well at crucial moments. I'm really happy with how everyone is stepping up. I think there's more to come from our team, and I'm hopeful that we can maintain this momentum.

Yeah, I think we came back quite well, but I wasn't very happy with our score again. I felt we were 20-30 runs short because we should be batting much better than we did today. Yes, we scored 70 runs in the first five overs, but I don't think we batted well enough to justify that."

Time for the presentation...
6:26 PM IST, Local Time: A comprehensive victory for Mysore Warriors, and they extend their winning streak to three matches. On the other hand, Shivamogga Lions have faced six defeats on the trot and are on the brink of elimination from the tournament.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Mysore Warriors lost Karthik SU early for just 8 runs. However, CA Karthik and Karun Nair stabilized the innings, building a crucial partnership in the middle. Despite the loss of CA Karthik (30 off 23), quickly followed by Harshil Dharmani for a silver duck—both dismissed by HS Sharath—the Warriors managed to keep the momentum. Nair played confidently but was dismissed just 5 runs short of his fifty. Sumit Kumar contributed 28 runs off 23 balls, while explosive cameos from Manoj Bhandage (23 off 7) and Jagadeesha Suchith (22* off 8) propelled the Warriors' total close to 180.

HS Sharath was the standout bowler for the Lions, taking four wickets. Bharath Dhuri and Ashok D also chipped in with a wicket each.

In pursuit of a hefty 179 runs,
Shivamogga Lions got off to a shaky start, losing Bangalore Mohith and Dheeraj Mohan in the opening over of the innings. Nihal Ullal formed brief partnerships with Hardik Raj (17) and Rohan Naveen (11) in the middle and kept the scoreboard moving. Abhinav Manohar joined Nihal at the number six and the pair looked promising, striking the ball cleanly.

Nihal and Manohar shifted gears and scored briskly, keeping their side in contention until the 15th over. However, both batters fell just 4 runs short of their fifties, departing within nine balls of each other, leaving their team in a precarious position. The wickets continued to tumble at the tail end of the innings and the Lions could only muster 151 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Vidyadhar Patil and Codanda Ajit Karthik bagged three wickets for the Warriors, while Krishnappa Gowtham and Deepak Devadiga contributed one wicket each to the Lions' downfall.

Stay tuned for the presentation....
