Manish Pandey (Hubli Tigers Captain): "I don't want to remember the last time I dropped a catch(chuckles). The plan was very simple. We wanted to go big from the start to reduce the target. We had a lot of batters. We tried to snatch a few singles too. It was not easy as the ball was moving a bit.
Our batters had a little more heart today and I think we will make more convincing wins from now. The ball was moving considerably today and the pacers were making it difficult but it happens. I told Thippa that if we get beaten by the bowler, we will run for some extra run."

The pitch had lots of runs on offer, and the Dragons' batters cashed in right from the start. Macneil Noronha started the innings with a boundary. He contributed 23 runs from 15 balls. His opening partner, Rohan Patil, started with his 11-ball, 24-run knock, hitting three maximums and a solitary boundary. But the Hubli bowlers picked the wicket of them in a span of three balls, and then the Nikin Jose-KV Siddharth pair had the onus to reconstruct.
KV Siddharth mustered 44 runs from 27 balls with 3 fours and an equal number of maximums. Nikin Jose was watchful in his innings and contributed 33 runs facing 29 balls with 2 fours and a maximum. In the last two overs of the game after the second rain break, it was a Hubli-dominated game. They took 4 wickets in these 12 balls to restrict Dragons to 143.
Kumar LR was the bowling star with his 3 wickets for just 30 runs. Vidhwath Kaverappa, Manvanth Kumar and Shreesha Achar took one wicket each.

6 SIXXX!!!! In the slot and out of the park! Full at the off stump. Thippa Reddy clears his front leg and gets under it to tonk it downtown. Gets a good piece of it and nails the lofted stroke over long off for a maximum. That should almost seal the deal for the defending champions. It was hit right into the Dragons dug-out! The players run back towards the shed as the rain picks up yet again! Hubli Tigers are well ahead in the VJD par score and they will be rewarded as the winners!

4.6 A Shetty to M Pandey
2 Length ball outside the off stump. Pandey slashes it and ends up slicing it off the outside edge. Gets enough on it to clear point and runs back for the second run by the time deep cover gets there with a chase across to his left. 16 runs off the over and almost the match deciding over!
Another wide from Abhilash!! 10 from wide balls in this over as Manish has sneaked in a bye in it.
