So, that also brings a wrap to our coverage of the 17th TNPL game between Chepauk Super Gillies and Salem Spartans. For now, this is me Hiren Kumar signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ayan, Aditya and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. CHEERS!
Baba Aparajith (Player of the Match and Chepauk Super Gillies Captain): "I think it was okay to lose the toss. It was not easy to bat here. I told the batters to take their time and bat. The last 3-4 sixes from Tanwar was the difference. Daryl was also brilliant in the end. I waited for the off spinners and wanted to target the lose balls. There will be more challenges in the next leg in Tirunelveli and we need to adapt to the changes fast."
Player of the Match: Baba Aparajith.
Maximum Fours in the Match: Robin Bist.
Most Sixes in the Match: Harish Kumar
Dependable Player of the Match: Abhishek Tanwar.
High Voltage Player of the Match: Harish Kumar

Safe Hands of the Match: R Kavin.
Most Number of Dot Balls: M Silambarasan.
Golden Wicket Taker: Rahil Shah.
Striker of the Match: Baba Aparajith.
Time for the presentations.
Shijit Chandran (Salem Spartans Captain): "I think we lost at the death bowling. We gave away 20 extra runs with the ball. Every game last 5 overs giving away too many runs. Wicket wasn't easy and the batters can show more intent. The bowling let us give away 20 more runs. Batters tried their best in my view. Looking forward to the next leg."
22:42 IST and Local Time: ALL OVER! Chepauk Super Gillies win by 23 runs! A clinical bowling display by their bowlers tonight. They now move 2nd on the points table with this victory. Salem on the other hand, have now lost 4 out of their 5 games so far. So, here is how the game panned out.

Opting to bowl first, Salem started very well with the new ball and kept picking up wickets consistently but leaked too many in the end. Sunny Sandhu and M Poiyamozhi were the top wicket takers and picked up 2 wickets each.

With the bat, CSG were pretty ordinary in the powerplay and middle overs but did well to get a good finish. Baba Aparajith was the top scorer for them who scored 41 off 41. He failed to get going today though. In the end, it was Abhishek Tanwar who played a brilliant cameo of 26* off 8 which helped them cross the 150 mark.

Coming to the chase, the CSG bowlers made full use of the momentum they had and were spot on with the new ball. Rahil Shah was the pick of the bowlers and ended with the figures of 3/13 in his 4 overs.

With the bat, Salem were pretty ordinary and failed to build partnerships in the middle. The impact player Robin Bist was the top scorer for them and scored 36 off 32. In the end, Harish Kumar also showed some of his hitting ability and remained unbeaten on 33* off 14 but it was too late.

Stay around for the presentations.
