That brings us to the end of our coverage of the 2nd T20I between the West Indies and South Africa. The Windies take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series with a game to spare.

For now, this is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma who brought you all the live updates from this fixture. We will meet again, until then good bye.
Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain): "I think how we came back when we were put under pressure was the best positive from this game. We were under pressure when they were going strong in the powerplay. I had a meeting with the guys after the first six overs. I just told them to breathe. No matter how good the wicket is, if you bowl good balls, it will do a bit.

(On Shepherd) When you give guys opportunities and back them, they can do well.

Brandon King is our Number one opener, and he is not here. He was leading us in the last T20I series against the same team. Alick Athanaze is a good player. Feels pretty excited to see him perform.

It's always good to beat such a good team. They are a quality team. Nevertheless, they are a Test-playing nation, and to beat them feels special.

It (crowd) has become a regular here in Trinidad. We are forever grateful to the people of Trinidad."
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "I think somewhere around the middle overs (the balance of the game shifted). Some good improvement from the last game. In the back end, they made scoring tough for us. Looking forward to come up with a plan in the next game.

His (Lizaad Williams) skillset is there for the world to see. I am glad he could get a game today and probably will continue. He's a proper competitor

Yeah, it is tough to put a finger on it (learnings from this series) right now. It shows how much experience counts (on fielding a relatively young side). We need to identify areas in bowling and batting where we can improve. One thing as a country we can guarantee is that we will come in with a never-say-die attitude."
Romario Shepherd (POTM): "I am pleased with my performance. After that first T20I, I had to make a comeback. It's a similar plan to the first T20I, but I executed it better today.

I just took one ball at a time. I was rushing a bit in the previous T20I; today, I just kept calm and executed it properly. It took it ball by ball and paid attention to my execution. In T20 cricket, you can't come back by thinking about your past performances.

I executed better today. My role is to come, and try and hit as much as possible. I just bowled stump-to-stump. I executed the slower ones well. Just what the team needed. Every day can't be the same. You get the information about the wicket and you need to bowl accordingly. Even the best of the bowlers go for runs. Happy to give my best to the team."

Time for the post-match presentations...
AKEAL HOSEIN HAS COMPLETED 50 T20I WICKETS
4:02 AM IST & 6:32 PM Local Time: That’s it! West Indies clinch the series with a game to spare. It was a clinical performance by the Men in Maroon. Shamar Joseph and Romario Shepherd led the attack with three wickets each, while the two left-arm spinners combined to take three wickets in 8 overs.

Earlier in the match, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first. West Indies started well, with Alick Athanaze and Shai Hope adding 41 runs off 34 balls for the first wicket.

Athanaze was dismissed for 28 off 21 balls. Hope then joined hands with Nicholas Pooran to add 42 runs for the second wicket before getting out for 41 off 22 balls.

Pooran struggled to find the big shots and was dismissed for 19 off 19 balls. Captain Rovman Powell looked dangerous, scoring 35 off 22 balls before losing his wicket. Sherfane Rutherford contributed 29 off 18 balls, taking West Indies close to 180.

Lizaad Williams was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 3/36. Patrick Kruger took 2/29, and Ottneil Baartman added one for 32.

In response, South Africa made a strong start. Ryan Rickelton and Reeza Hendricks put on 63 runs in just 4.3 overs.

Rickelton was out for 20 off 13 balls, and Hendricks followed soon after, scoring 44 off just 18 balls.

Skipper Aiden Markram made 19 off 9 balls, while Tristan Stubbs, the hero from the first game, managed only 28 off 24 balls. Rassie van der Dussen struggled throughout his 24-ball innings, scoring 17.

Shamar Joseph then took two wickets in quick succession as the West Indies pacers dismantled the lower middle order of the Proteas, securing a comfortable 30-run victory and taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Joseph finished with figures of 3/31, while Romario Shepherd picked up 3/15 from his four overs. Gudakesh Motie and Matthew Forde got one wicket each, while Akeal Hosein got 2/25. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
19.4 M Forde to O Baartman
W OUT!!! West Indies win the series with a game to spare. Forde knocks over Baartman to seal the deal for the hosts. Full and at the off stump. 128 kmph. Baartman looks to make room and play the big shot across the line but misses on the inside edge. The ball sneaks under his bat and crashes into the off stump. West Indies win by 30 runs and win the third straight T20I series versus South Africa!
19.3 M Forde to O Baartman
0 Over the wicket. Slower. Full and outside off. Baartman swings and misses to the keeper. He looks to drive and misses.
19.2 M Forde to K Maphaka
1 Around the wicket. Yorker around the off stump. Maphaka jams this one past the bowler and keeps on running while Baartman looks at the ball. He moves across late for the single. The mid-on fielder is quick to to get the ball and aim a direct hit at the striker's end. TV umpire replays confirm that Baartman is just in! NOT OUT!
19.1 M Forde to O Baartman
1 Over the wicket. Short and into the pitch, angling into the batter backing away. Baartman swivels and slams the controlled pull to deep backward square leg for 1.
Shamar Joseph ends the evening with figures of 3/31, his best figures in T20Is. South Africa need 33 off the last over. Matthew Forde to bowl the last over.
