That is the coverage of the tournament of Global t20 Canada. For now, this is me Hrutuja Deshmukh signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Aditya Agarwal, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur brought you all the live action of this fixture. We will meet again. Until then, cheers!
Shakib Al Hasan ( Captain, Bangla Tigers Mississauga ) - " It was a great match and I loved to be a part of it. We played really well today to get to a above par score of 170 around. It was great to see Ali Khan step up in the pressure time. It's always nice to be on the winning side and I am sure owners would also be proud of our performance."
Colin Munro ( Captain, Toronto Nationals) -" It was a tough game today, good game for the Tigers overall, being a part of the losing team is tough, we didn't execute the play well while chasing. We were closer but it was not a win. It is time for everyone to step up."
David Wiese ( POTM, Bangla Tigers ) - " I didn't knew it was a free hit, otherwise I would have thrown the ball earlier. I wanted to hit through the line. First time here at Canada and I am loving it here. We have good back to back matches and looking forward to continue it."
Player of the Match - David Wiese
Time for the presentation.
Nicholas Kirton ( Toronto Nationals ) - "Yes we fell a bit short today! it was a good match but the Tigers were better today! A lot to take home today. Looking forward to carrying this form ahead!"
12:05 AM IST and 2:35 PM Local Time - What an exhilarating match it was! The Bangla Tigers Mississauga clinched victory by a razor-thin margin of just 2 runs against the Toronto Nationals. The game truly went down to the wire, with the final moments filled with tension and excitement. The Bangla Tigers set a formidable target of 169 runs in their innings, putting the pressure on the Nationals to chase down the score.

In their chase, the Toronto Nationals got off to a steady start with Captain Colin Munro scoring 17 off 12 balls. The star of the innings was Nicholas Kirton, who delivered a sensational performance, scoring 74 runs off 54 balls. He was all over the park, ensuring his team stayed in the hunt. As the innings neared its climax, Romario Shepherd stepped in with a crucial 24* runs off just 12 balls, providing a glimmer of hope. However, despite their valiant efforts, the Nationals fell agonizingly short by just 2 runs.

On the bowling front, the Bangla Tigers were outstanding. David Wiese and Mohammad Shouriful Islam each took a wicket, while Ali Khan impressed with two wickets. Shakib Al Hasan and Iftikhar Ahmed also chipped in with a wicket apiece. The bowling unit was disciplined, offering very few short or loose deliveries, and they kept the extras to a minimum. Their exceptional fielding and sharp focus throughout the match were pivotal in defending the total of 169.

This victory was well-deserved for the Bangla Tigers Mississauga, who showed remarkable skill and composure. Despite the narrow defeat, the Toronto Nationals put up a brave fight and will surely learn from this experience. Congratulations to the Bangla Tigers for a hard-fought win, and we look forward to seeing both teams in action again soon!

Ali Khan bowls a yorker around leg stump, Shepherd misses the loft and it goes through the keeper, Gurbaz throws it towards stumps in celebration, the batters started running and tries to steal three runs but a throw comes from the deep towards keeper's end and Zafar is run out.

In the end, Bangla Tigers win by 2 runs! What a thriller of a match we just had.
