That will be it from our coverage of match 6 in the WCPL 2024. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Deandra Dottin (Trinbago Knight Riders Women Captain): "Very impressed with the win. Good to see that other batters besides me also scored runs. Jemimah Rodrigues was outstanding today. She stuck till the end which was more impressive.

Samara Ramnath is actually getting better. She's actually sticking to her plans throughout her 4 overs. Connell was really good. Very good for her to come in and contribute as well.

We take every game as a final. So we won the quarter-final, now the semifinal and tomorrow the final. We continue to be positive and encouraging each other trying to keep the energy on."
Hayley Matthews (Barbados Royals Women Captain): "Yeah, obviously, we knew they only needed six runs, so it was always going to be hard to defend. But we just tried to set a few fields to work with. However, Jemi was at the crease for quite some time and played a really good shot that brought them even closer.

I feel like we gave a lot of the younger girls an opportunity today, and it was really good to see them get some time out in the field. Experiences like these are going to help them learn a lot. Hopefully, in the finals, we’ll be able to hold on to a few more chances.

Yeah, they have a lot of quality, for sure. I think they started off really well with the ball, but, yeah, they gave us a few chances in the middle. We can take confidence from the fact that we still batted and bowled pretty well, even though we were a few runs short with the bat. Competing hard despite missing a few key players from our eleven definitely shows some positive signs for us heading into the final."
Jemimah Rodrigues (Player of the Match): "130 wasn't easy on this wicket. The bowlers did really well. I just remembered what my dad always tells me: 'Jemi, just keep taking it deep, keep taking it deep. When you're set, you can chase down any target.' That was playing in my mind, but I also think those crucial cameos in between really helped because I couldn't have done it on my own.

It was all about playing positive cricket.
And more than anything, I'm just happy that we made it to the finals from out of nowhere. We’ve played a lot of cricket together. I love playing against her (Hayley Matthews), whether she’s batting or bowling. She challenges you a lot, but I enjoy taking on those challenges.

As I said, it wasn’t easy losing the first two games, but this team has shown so much character. We just kept focusing on one thing: Just keep believing, keep pushing. You never know—cricket’s a funny game. Anything can happen. So, we’re going to stick to the process, keep doing what we’re doing, and we’ll see them again in the finals."
Jemimah Rodrigues is the player of the match.
10:01 AM IST, 12:31 AM Local Time: Trinbago Knight Riders have made their way into the grand finale of WCPL 2024 winning a thriller by 4 wickets against fellow finalists Barbados Royals.

The Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first with Chamari Athapaththu with her 70 single handedly taking the Royals to a fighting 130/7.

The Knight Riders lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay with the score 43/3 after six. Athapaththu weaving her magic with the ball as well claiming 2/24. Jemimah Rodrigues at number 3 was brilliant with the bat scoring an unbeaten 59 in 50 balls to guide the side to victory.

She added 40 runs for the 5th wicket with Kycia Knight to stabilize the ship while chasing the total and took the game deep with only 6 needed off the final six balls. Hayley Matthews (1/19) took it on her to bowl the final over but failed to contain the score.

The win means Trinbago Knight Riders will face Barbados Royals again in the final with Guyana Amazon Warriors now knocked out.
19.4 Matthews to J Rodrigues
1 There it is! Rodrigues' valiant knock secures victory for TKR Women, and they advance to the final of WCPL 2024. Matthews drops the ball too short, almost near the bowler’s end crease, outside off. Rodrigues shuffles across, pulls at it, and just manages to get a bit of glove on it. The ball rolls down to fine leg, and TKR Women clinch a 4-wicket victory in a low-scoring thriller.
19.3 Matthews to J Rodrigues
4 FOUR! A crucial boundary from Rodrigues and the scores are level! Tossed up on the middle and leg stump line. Rodrigues goes for a paddle scoop and gets enough wood on it. The ball trickles away to deep fine leg for a four.
5 needed off 4 balls.
19.2 Matthews to Z James
1b Tossed up outside off. James swings and misses. The keeper misses it well and the pair sneak a bye run.

19.1 Matthews to S Pandey
W WICKET! Shikha Pandey is run out! Over the wicket. Flighted delivery outside off. Shikha charges down and throws her bat at it but gets an inside edge onto her boots. The ball rolls to the right of the keeper, and Shikha is unaware of its location. She looks for a single, but the keeper quickly whips off the bails.
TKR Women need 6 runs off 6 balls. Hayley Matthews will bowl the final over.
