That's it from our coverage of the Major League Cricket grand finale. The Washington Freedom stamping the authority taking the trophy home. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Dushyant Kumar. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the globe.
Steve Smith collects the trophy and celebrates with his teammates. The fireworks go off. The Washington Freedom players pose with the champion's banner. The support staff also joins them in the photo.
Steve Smith (Washington Freedom Captain, Player of the match): "Yeah, it was nice to contribute. It was nice season. We've got a great bunch as Travis said we had a pretty good time off the field and yeah enjoyed a lot.

We just talked about trusting our process and not getting overawed by the occasion. Really pleased for the boys, it was a great tournament.

It is important some guys don't get a game. We have to make them part of the group. It can be hard but everyone in this group had each other's back. Pretty amazing.

Everyone stood at different time. Our batting was strong. Marco didn't get to bat a lot. Bowlers, Netravalkar was outstanding. Lockie misses out but he was outstanding as well."
Washington Freedom players to collect their championship medals.
Travis Head: "Been on the road for too long so its nice to have some form. Looking for a few weeks of rest now. Its pretty simple. Few of the boys are laughing. Get a few hours of sleep, go to training and see what the bowlers are bowling.

Its challenging to get in a new group. So I have learnt to be myself, enjoy what I do. Its a short tournament so be yourself and enjoy as much as I can.

We have been doing well this tournament. I missed out tonight and Steve made it big tonight. Nice to have familiar face in the lineup."
Most Valuable Player Award: Travis Head [Washington Freedom] (336 Runs at SR of 173, Average of 48, 5 half centuries)
Leading Run Scorer Award: Faf du Plessis (420 Runs for Texas Super Kings)
Leading Wicket Taker Award: Saurabh Netravalkar (15 wickets for Washington Freedom)
Hassan Khan: "Yeah, I would like to thank almighty. Happy to contribute for the team. Yeah, I think I was fortunate enough to get time to play some shots early on. It was good.

I guess it is natural. I was a bowling all-rounder. Thanks to Watto and the management who trusted in my batting.

They are like greats of the game. Having Pat Cummins in our dressing room helped a lot."
Bart King Award (Best domestic player of the tournament): Hassan Khan (San Francisco Unicorns)
Match officials will now receive their gifts.
Time for the post-tournament presentation now....
Corey Anderson (San Francisco Unicorns Captain): "Extremely disappointing. We were well off the mark today. They played us off the park in every facet of the game.

Its hard to stop those guys when they get going. They are one of the best in the world. We were still confident of chasing. You need a couple of boys to put their hands up. Unfortunately it was one of those days when you are chasing above 200 and just crumble. The boys have been fantastic. We did a great job. Disappointing today but really proud of the boys. Looking forward for next season.

I just think we had few more guys to put their hands up. The tournament will progress with lot of big players coming in as well. Really proud of the group. Disappointed tonight but extremely proud."
Most Valuable Player of the match: Steve Smith
Play of the day: Josh Inglis (for his catch to dismiss Glenn Maxwell)
Longest Six of the match: Mukhtar Ahmed
