Milestone
That's it from our coverage of this game. Washington Freedom are through to the finals while San Francisco Unicorns will get a second bite at the cherry against Texas Super Kings tomorrow in the Challenger. Do join us for that game and for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats, stay tuned to our network.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh alongside scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Steve Smith (Washington Freedom Captain): "It has been good fun. We got a good bunch of guys. Everyone got on well. To have the opportunity to play this game here and have two bites at the cherry was good and now hopefully in the big game, we get the job done.

I think the bowlers did well to keep them down. They set it up for us.

Yeah, he (Travis Head) is clear and confident. He just sees the ball and hits it. Even when he doesn't get it off the middle off the bat, it still travels."
Corey Anderson (San Francisco Unicorns Captain): "Look I think it's tough to lose 4 wickets in the first few overs. We did well to recover but short by 20-30 runs. Then we started well, but Head and Maxwell were too good in the end.

The batting line up is such that it can falter a bit with risk taking and this was one of those days. We were short in everything and that's why we lost.

Quick turnaround for us as we go tomorrow again in the Challengers. The boys will be up for it."
Travis Head (Player of the match): "Batting in the powerplay is always nice. Great result and looking forward to few days off. My job is to get off to a quick start. If wickets fell, I try and take my time. That is the role I have been given and it is working well.

Yeah, a decent deck. Batters can trust the bounce and when it swings, it gives us a chance to score quick runs. Left me alone and let me do my thing (on how Ricky Ponting is handling him)."
Most Valuable Player of the match: Travis Head
Play of the day award: Sherfane Rutherford.
Power hitter of the match: Glenn Maxwell (103m maximum).
9:29 AM IST & 10:59 PM Local Time: It is time for the presentations.
Rachin Ravindra: "Yeah, it was good. Smudge trusted him and it was a good day for us. Luckily it worked out today. I think it is also taking pride in what you are doing as a cricketer.

It is just about matchups. It is always nice, hopefully, I can develop into a genuine all-rounder and help the teams I play for in more ways than one.

We got some world-class players and world-class coaches. You see Heady go about his business the way he does is amazing to watch.

I think I am still learning. It is nice to have guys around who have done it for years like Maxwell and Cummins. I think it can only help me as a cricketer. Just trying on focus on how to go about different phases in the game."
9:20 AM IST, 10:50 PM Local Time: A dominating display by Washington Freedom as they have outplayed the San Francisco Unicorns by 7 wickets with 27 balls left and they advance to the finals. They have outplayed their opponents in all facets of the game. The Unicorns had a tough day at the office but they will get a second bite in the cherry tomorrow in the Challenger against Texas Super Kings. A night to remember for Freedom.

Chasing a tricky target of 146 for the win, Washington Freedom lost skipper Steve Smith early for 1. Andries Gous struggled at the crease and went for a low score. Rachin Ravindra also missed out today. But amidst all this, Travis Head held the innings together and carried his bat with another half century. He remained unbeaten on 77* off 44 balls and Glenn Maxwell came to the party and scored 54* off 23 balls and hit the winning runs as the chase was over in 15.3 overs. 5 extras given by the fielding side.

Hassan Khan looked good and bowled well for his 2/32 in 4 overs. The other wicket was taken by Pat Cummins. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless and went the distance today.

Earlier in the game, San Francisco Unicorns were put into bat first by Washington Freedom. They lost wickets at regular intervals. Finn Allen went early. Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 11. Sanjay Krishnamurthi scored 19. Hassan Khan was the best batter for them scoring 57 off 36 balls and was the top scorer. Corey Anderson the skipper chipped in with 26 off 19 balls. The others fell away in the end. 8 extras given by the fielding side as the Unicorns were bowled out for 145 in 19 overs.

Rachin Ravindra was the pick of the bowlers for Washington Freedom with figures of 4/11 in 2.4 overs. Marco Jansen was expensive but picked up 3 wickets for 46 runs in 4 overs. Saurabh Netravalkar chipped in with a couple of wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. A wicket to Lockie Ferguson but he walked off the field with a hamstring injury. Maxwell went wicketless but gave away only 26 runs in 4 overs. All in all, a good effort from the Freedom bowlers.

So, a win for Washington Freedom over San Francisco Unicorns by 7 wickets with 27 balls left as they advance to the finals. Stay tuned for the presentations.
15.3 H Rauf to G Maxwell
4 FOUR!!!! Maxwell finishes things off in style. Short ball outside off and it has been thumped down the ground by the Australian. A clinical performance by the table-toppers and Washington Freedom are into the final.

Maxwell hasn't had the best of times coming into this Qualifier but he has hit form when it mattered the most. Remained unbeaten on 54 off 23 to take Washington into the summit clash.
Maxwell reaches his fifty in just 22 balls. Great innings and the scores are level now.
15.2 H Rauf to G Maxwell
6 SIXXX!!!! Glenn Maxwell gets to a half-century in style. Short ball at the body. Maxwell pulls it over deep mid wicket and it comes right from the meat of the bat. The scores are level now.
15.1 H Rauf to G Maxwell
4 FOUR!!!!! Slapped by Maxwell. Over the wicket. Back of a length at the middle and leg stump line. Maxwell bends low and pulls it hard to deep mid wicket for a boundary.
15 off the over. Hassan Khan finishes with figures of 2/32 in 4 overs. Washington Freedom needs just 11 more runs off 30 balls. Haris Rauf comes back into the attack.
