That's all from us for this Eliminator between MI New York and Texas Super Kings. The Super Kings demolished the defending champions by 9 wickets, knocking them out of the tournament and advancing to the Challenger. They will now face the loser of the Qualifier between Washington Freedom and San Francisco Unicorn.

This is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my co-commentators AkshayaKrishna Polya and Deepak Prakash, along with our scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar, who provided all the live updates from this fixture. Until next time, goodbye from all of us.
Faf du Plessis (Most Valuable Player of the Match & Texas Super Kings Captain): "Yeah, we showed great intent during the power play. Putting pressure on the bowlers early on is crucial. It was a good start for us, even though it's a bit of a cliche. We made sure to put our foot on the gas to get ahead in the power play during chases. It's really important to do that. Starting slow without intensity isn't ideal. Reaching 50 without loss was extremely important for us.

(On partnership with Conway) I think it's a balance of someone playing on merit, understanding the game situation, and me trying to be the aggressor. Sometimes, batting partnerships work like that. On a different day, he might take the lead role, and I'm happy to play second fiddle. But right now, it's working well, and those strong starts are really important. I try to be the aggressor. Sometimes, batting partnerships work that way. On another day, he can take that role, and I'll play second fiddle. Conway might be frustrated with his innings, trying to hit the ball but going through one of those scratchy knocks batters experience. There's a lesson in that: sticking it out. Luckily, he got one out of the middle and his confidence flowed from there. You have to bat according to the partnership.

At the toss, I wasn't sure what to do. We knew they prefer chasing, so we wanted to put them in a tough position by bowling well in the powerplay. Scoring 160-165 was an excellent effort by the bowlers, even if it felt slightly under par.

(On Bravo's injury)
It was a big scare at the moment, mainly because Bravo is such an experienced death bowler. Stoinis bowled the penultimate over fantastically. Hardie hasn’t bowled much, but those two overs at the end made a 5-10 run difference in our favor."
Kieron Pollard (MI New York): "We gave ourselves a chance with 160 odd. We wanted to get a few more runs in the last two overs. 170 would have been a good total psychologically. But with showers coming in the mid innings, the conditions did get better in the second innings.

We were not the sharpest in the field today and in games like these, it is about who blinks first. We were not up to the mark in terms of that. Well played to Texas and they deserve to go on in this tournament.

Keep supporting, the guys gave it their all (on his message to the MI supporters). We fought all the way through. We are going to regroup and going to come back next year.

To the players, we have to continue working hard. The American guys, they have to work to get up to the standard, and us international players, to work hard to keep scoring runs and getting wickets (and doing our job)."
Most Valuable Player of the Match: Faf du Plessis
Play of the Day: Marcus Stoinis
Longest Six of the Match: Faf du Plessis (289 feet)
Time for the post-match presentation.....
Devon Conway: "Yeah, I just struggled to try and match Faf. Watching him from the non-striker's end, the way he was hitting, made me want to get involved in the act. But I was just trying to hit the ball too hard tonight and lost my shape.

So, yeah, it was definitely a tough night for me with rhythm and timing, but I'm just glad to get the win. When Faf got out, I said to myself that it was probably very important for me to try and bat through and just get the boys across the line, no matter how ugly it looked. At that point, I knew I gave them an opportunity, which they probably should have taken, but I'm grateful it went the other way.

(On target)
We felt the score was competitive but a bit below par, knowing that dew would affect the second innings. Credit to them for coming out with a lot of energy and making it tough for us."
9:40 AM IST & 11:10 PM Local Time: Texas Super Kings deliver the knockout blow to defending champions MI New York, eliminating them from the tournament with a 9-wicket win in the Eliminator. This victory by TSK assures that we will have a new champion this year in Major League Cricket. Faf du Plessis laid the platform for this win with a fine knock of 72 off 47. Devon Conway played the anchor role and remained unbeaten on 51 off 43, while Aaron Hardie came in and played a cameo of 40 off 22 to take TSK into the Challenger.

Earlier in the match, Faf du Plessis won the toss and invited MI New York to bat first. Zia-ul-Haq struck in his first over and sent Dewald Brevis for a duck.

Marcus Stoinis got the wicket of Nicholas Pooran in the 4th over to push the defending champions on the backfoot.

Shayan Jahangir and Monank Patel added 49 runs for the third wicket to steady the ship. Jahangir perished for 26 but Patel carried on and made 48 off 41.

Rashid Khan scored 55 off 30 balls to push the MI New York over 160. The Australian duo of Marcus Stoinis and Aaron Hardie picked up two wickets each while Zia-ul-Haq, Noor Ahmad and DJ Bravo picked up one wicket apiece as they restricted MI New York to 163/8 from their 20 overs.

In response, Faf du Plessis and Devon Conway took the game away from the defending champions with a 101-run opening stand.

Faf perished for 72 but Conway stood his ground and formed another partnership of 66 runs with Aaron Hardie as TSK chased down the target with 9 balls to spare. It ended up as a one-sided clash in the hand.

MI New York were really poor in the field and that is what cost them. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
18.3 R Ugarkar to A Hardie
4 FOUR! That's it! Super Kings win the battle against MI in this Eliminator, and now DJ Bravo has some bragging rights over Pollard! Texas Super Kings win by 9 wickets and 9 balls to spare, advancing into the Challenger of ongoing MLC. On the other hand, MI New York bow out of the tournament.

Full-length delivery on the pads. Hardie flicks and gets enough wood on it as the ball trickles away to deep fine leg for a boundary.
18.2 R Ugarkar to A Hardie
2 Over the wicket. Back of a length delivery outside off. Hardie punches it nicely through cover for a couple of runs. The scores are level now.
18.1 R Ugarkar to D Conway
1 Around the wicket. Full and at the stumps. Conway pushes it down to long-on for a run.
A night to forget for Trent Boult. He goes for 50 from his four overs. TSK need just 4 runs from 2 overs.

17.6 T Boult to A Hardie
4 FOUR! 18 runs off the 18th over! Full-length delivery on the off and middle stump line. Hardie stays away from the line of the ball and gets underneath it properly as he drills it straight over the bowler's head for a boundary to end the over.
Hardie seems to be in a hurry to finish this off now. Another maximum.
17.5 T Boult to A Hardie
6 SIX MORE! Hardie is playing a valuable knock for his side! Short of a length delivery on the stumps. Hardie walks a down tad and pulls it hard with his back leg lifted in the air. The ball flies over deep mid-wicket for half-a-dozen runs.
17.4 T Boult to A Hardie
0 Full and at the stumps. Hardie drills it back at the bowler.
