That's all from this encounter between India Women and South Africa Women.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh who, along with scorer/analysts Raju Khariya brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.

22:11 PM IST and Local Time | Alright folks the rain has played spoil sport in the 2nd WT20I encounter between India Women and South Africa Women.

South Africa Women posted 177 on the board after being put into bat by Harmanpreet Kaur. Laura Wolvaardt got South Africa off to a quickfire start while her partner got a lifeline early on in her Innings which she capitalized by scoring a half century. Anneke Bosch’s Innings as well as the late cameo from Annerie Dercksen helped the Proteas Women post up a total of 177 on the board.

The fielding and bowling of the Indian Women side was pretty decent on a really good batting wicket. At the Innings break, the rain started getting heavier and it remained consistent for an hour which made the match officials decide to call it off. Unfortunately, India wont be able to win this series anymore but they can definitely level the series on Tuesday for the final encounter of this series.
10:05 PM IST & Local Time: We have spotted some movements in the dressing room. Harmanpreet and the umpires were having a chat. Looks like this game is done. Handshakes all around and that is that from the second T20I. The 2nd T20I has been officially called off.
10:01 PM IST & Local Time: Nothing new to update. It is still raining. The umpires are making their way to the middle with umbrellas on.
9:48 PM IST & Local Time: Some fans are now starting to leave the stadium, they feel that is it from this game. It is bucketing down now. The inevitable is around the corner, I'm afraid.
9:38 PM IST & Local Time: The super sopper is out, drying the water on the covers. Still a slight drizzle but the groundstaff are doing everything they can to get the ground ready for some action as soon as the rain stops.
The cut-off time for a five-over game is 10:13 PM IST & Local Time.
9:27 PM IST & Local Time: We have started to lose overs now. The ground staff is out in the middle assessing the conditions. Umpires are walking out as well but the umbrellas are on. It is still drizzling and they cannot continue unless it completely stops to rain.
9:13 PM IST & Local Time: The rain has gotten heavier and more covers are coming on now. The groundsmen are the square of the pitch as well. Looks like we are in for a long delay.
8:58 PM IST & Local Time: The drizzle has gotten heavier in Chennai. The covers are on at the moment.
Anneke Bosch (South Africa Women) : "I struggled a little bit at the middle but to get a good partnership at the middle was the plan for us. Yeah, we are really pleased with the score we got in the board but still we have a job to do with the ball.

Yeah we were quite confident to get a similar score to the previous night or maybe more. We are really happy with the score we go tonight and lets hope we can defend it."
8:50 PM IST & Local Time: A hat-trick of boundaries by Dercksen takes South Africa's total to 177/6 from their 20 overs. It is a good score after being put into bat by India under overcast conditions.

Earlier in the match, South Africa got off to a rapid start thanks to captain Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits. They added 43 in 4 overs before Vastrakar dismissed Wolvaardt.

Brits carried on and scored a half-century. She made 52 off 39. Marizanne Kapp looked dangerous but her innings was cut short by Deepti Sharma.

Anneke Bosch scored quick 40 runs and a late cameo from Dercksen took the Proteas' total to 177.

Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar both picked up two wickets each. Shreyanka Patil and Radha Yadav got one wicket apiece.

Can India chase this down and stay alive in the series? Stay tuned to find out. We will be back in a while with the run chase.
