That's it from our coverage of the first T20I between West Indies and South Africa. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Brandon King (West Indies Captain & Player of the Match): "Leading into the World Cup we have to play our best cricket. Got a win today so very happy with that.

You have to try and give a really good start. It gets more difficult to score. I think we started well in both innings. That was my plan and we did it well.

At the halfway stage I thought we could have done maybe 200 or 210 because we had wickets in hand but its a difficult pitch to bat. We still got a competitive score at the end.

Motie is a very beautiful and smart bowler. He changes his pace really well. He tries to think ahead of the batsman and executes well most of the time. He is a very reliable player for us.

Forde bowls with the new ball really well. I am sure this performance will give him confidence.

The group of guys is coming in from a training camp and were in a discussion with the coach. A certain way we'd like to play our cricket. These 3 games help us to try and push. We did well today.

Everybody which was called upon bowled well. The bowlers were consistent."
Brandon King is the player of the match!
Rassie van der Dussen (South Africa Captain): "We took a bit long to get into the match. They won the game in the first 10 overs and it was tough to get back. It was a 150 par score wicket and we got more while chasing. Credit to how Brandon batted.

We could have played differently than anticipated, took a bit long to make tactical changes. Had he not played that way, it would have turned out different. We take the learnings and hope to improve on Saturday.

[Andile] is very clever and I could throw the ball to him, his cricket has been brilliant over the past year. [Baartman] is one of the guys who is good for these conditions, he is skiddy and I am glad he got his debut, a few months after it was supposed to happen but he will take a lot of confidence.

We would not blame it on the powerplay, we lost our way in the middle. Credit to the spinners, the way they bowled. Reeza is a world class act and the calmness he brings in the team, he will take this confidence into the World Cup.

We know how the West Indies play, they are a dangerous team and we need to expect that from them. Again I think we lost in the first 10 overs and we need to improve on that."
Time for the post match presentation ceremony..
3:59 AM IST, 5:29 PM Local Time: The hosts West Indies have kick started their prep for the T20 World Cup with a thumping 28- run win over South Africa.

The Proteas won the toss and elected to field first. Brandon King blasted his way to 79 in 45 balls. Kyle Mayers and Roston Chase helped West Indies score 175/8 in their 20 overs.

Quinton de Kock departed on the 2nd ball in the chase. A couple of more batters followed him inside the powerplay. Reeza Hendricks single handedly fought for the side with 87 in 51 balls. Matthew Breetzke (19 off 13) and Rassie van der Dussen (17 off 17) were the only other batters to score into double digits in the 2nd innings.

Gudakesh Motie was the star of the show with figures of 3/25. Matthew Forde picked up 3/27 as well. Obed McCoy starred with 2/15. Roston Chase (1/12) and Shamar Joseph on debut picked up a wicket apiece and were very economical.

Stay tuned as we return with the presentation.
Biggest win for West Indies over South Africa in T20Is!
19.5 M Forde to O Baartman
W BOWLED HIM! It's all over! Bowls the inch perfect yorker on middle and leg stumps. Baartman clears the front leg looking to hit hard but misses. Ball goes through the gate to rattle the furniture.
Ottniel Baartman is the last man into bat!
19.4 M Forde to R Hendricks
W GONE! Hendricks departs after playing his best T20I knock. A back of the hand slower ball. Full on middle and leg. Hendricks clearing the front leg lines up a big shot. Mayers at wide long on settles under and takes the catch.
Career best score for Hendricks!!
19.3 M Forde to R Hendricks
0 Yorker on the middle stump is dug out to long on.
19.2 M Forde to R Hendricks
6 SIX MORE! Hendricks still believes! Moves to his best T20I score. A good length ball pitched outside the off stump. Clears the front leg and pulls it 81 metres over deep midwicket in the crowd.
19.1 M Forde to R Hendricks
4 FOUR RUNS!! Over the wicket. Thigh height full toss has been picked up nicely. Hendricks swivels across and finds the square leg boundary.
All but assured victory for WIndies as South Africa are 39 runs away.
