After losing the toss and put into bat first, Daniel Hughes and Harrison David Ward opened the innings for Sussex Sharks. While Hughes was dismissed without opening his account, Ward scored 39 from 20 balls. Tom Clark added 37 from 26 balls and James Coles made a contribution of 46 from 33 balls. Tom Alsop also played a quick fire knock of 35 from 17 balls. Towards the end, Dany Lamb added 22 from 13 balls while Nathan McAndrew scored 13 from 7 balls to help their team post a score of 200/7 in 20 overs. 

For Hampshire, James Fuller took 2/20 in 3 overs while Bradley Wheal took 2/43 in 4 overs. Chris Wood and Liam Dawson picked one wicket each in the innings. 

Chasing a target of 201 on the board, James Vince and Ben McDermott opened the innings for Hampshire. They were down to 8/2 in 1.3 overs after losing the wicket of Ben McDermott and Tom Prest. Vince was joined by Joe Weatherley in the middle. The duo added 59 runs for the third wicket before Weatherley was dismissed for 34 from 23 balls. Vince made 32 from 22 balls. Toby Albert added 27 from 15 balls. Benny Howell scored 32 from 17 balls while Chris Wood scored 21 from 14 balls.

For Sussex, James Coles was the pick of the bowlers who took 4/34 in 4 overs. Tymal Mills, Jack Carson and Danny Lamb picked one wicket each in the innings. The other three wickets came as a run-out.
