That's a wrap from our coverage of the CPL 2024 game between St Lucia Kings and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. I am Saptak Sanyal and I will soon be joined by my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and our scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Have a good day!
Faf du Plessis (St Lucia Kings Captain): Yeah, after winning the toss and with the bowling from my guys, even 170 felt 20 runs short. Yeah, fielding was good, we have been catching well. It wasn't the easiest of grounds to take catches like that. But it really makes a difference.

Yeah, it was important to put the pressure on the opposition. We went out there to maximise the powerplay. Targeted 60-plus and glad that it came off. You wanted one guy to bat through and Charles did that perfectly.

We turned it around well. We wanted to give them something to smile about."
Andre Fletcher(St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Captain): "To be honest we started well in the powerplay but the middle overs put us in backfoot. We could've had a better strike rate. Rilee played a brilliant innings.

Layne can be very effective. He is tall and can hit the deck. Unfortunately it was not his day today.

It has been a rough season for us. We have three games left. We have the next game just a few days from now. We are looking to win that. These three games are important for us."
Johnson Charles (Player of the Match): "It was a very good innings but I would have loved to finish it off for the team. Opening with Faf has always been good. He is an aggressive player and we feed off each other's energy.

Yeah, having people coming out to support us despite two losses. Good to have the support even after the two defeats. A huge thanks to our supporters."

08:00 IST and 22:30 Local Time | St Lucia Kings have shown tremendous performance to outclass the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to clinch a victory by 5 wickets and with 21 balls to go. They have been absolutely clinical to come out with flying colours.

Batting first in the game, SKNP opener Andre Fletcher scored some quick runs in the powerplay but on the other end, Evin Lewis struggled and got out for an uncharacteristic 15 off 16 balls. Kyle Mayers also didn't contribute much.

Andre Fletcher and Rilee Rossouw together took the innings forward for them. Together they added 72 runs for the 3rd wicket before Fletcher got out. Andre Fletcher scored 62 runs off 50 balls with 5 fours and 2 maximums. Rossouw got out just after completing his 50. He hit 1 four and 5 sixes on his way. In the death overs, Clarkson, Louis and Hasaranga contributed a few runs to take the score to 173 for 5 after 20 overs.

Alzarri Joseph took two wickets while Roston Chase, David Wiese and Shadrack Descarte chipped in with a wicket each. Noor Ahmad deserves the laudation for cramping the batters with his tight lines as he finished conceding only 23 from his 4 overs.

Chasing the run, SLK openers were watchful forthe first over only but they started to step on the accelerator button right from the second over. Faf du Plessis and Johnson Charles continued the carnage and posted 72 runs from the first 6 overs. The powerplay overs were enough to send the SKNP side reeling behind. Their bowlers were looking in stygian darkness amidst the onslaught. The opening partnership was off 115 runs in just 10.4 overs and that took the game away from the SKNP side.

Faf du Plessis brought up his 1000 CPL runs on his way to score 62 today. He faced 31 balls to score the run hitting 5 fours and as many as sixes on his way. Tim Seifert came to bat after his skipper and he could manage only 13 off 8. Both of them were removed by Josh Clarkson. Bhanuka Rajapaksa also failed to finish the innings as he got out for 9 missing the short ball trick of Nortje.

Johnson Charles however did justice to his reputation. He whacked the balls whenever he found it in his slot. He managed to score 74 from 42 deliveries with 4 fours and 7 maximums. His innings was instrumental for his side to get the comprehensive victory. He also scored his 3000 CPL runs on his way to 74. Wanindu Hasaranga took his wicket and removed Descartes too in the 16th over but Roston Chase finished the game with a boundary.

For the SKNP side, Josh Clarkson and Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets each and Anrich Nortje took a wicket.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations.
16.3 A Nortje to R Chase
4 Roston Chase finishes it off in style. Pure timing from the ice-cool Chase to get the Kings over the line. Fuller length ball down the leg. Chase flicks it in the gap between deep fine and deep square leg for a boundary to finish the game with 3.3 overs to spare.

St Lucia Kings get back to winning ways after two defeats on the bounce. Meanwhile, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have registered their sixth defeat in a row and their season looks all but over.
16.2 A Nortje to A Auguste
1 Back of a length again around leg stump. 141 kmph. Auguste swivels and pulls it to deep backward square leg for a single.
16.1 A Nortje to A Auguste
0 Over the wicket. Back of a length around leg stump. Auguste gets into an awkward position as he looks to fend it to short fine for a single. Wears it on his body.
3 needed from 4 overs now.

Roston Chase comes in at number 7.
Descartes tries to finish it with a maximum in style. But he finds the fielder in the deep mistiming that one.
15.6 W Hasaranga to S Descartes
W IN THE AIR & TAKEN!!!! 2nd wicket in the over for Hasaranga but no celebration at all from the spinner. Length ball around off stump. Descartes bends low and goes for the pull but doesn't connect it from the middle of the bat and it lands straight into the hands of the fielder at deep mid wicket.
