So, that also brings an wrap to our coverage of this game between Siechem Madurai Panthers and Lyca Kovai Kings. For now, this is me Hiren Kumar signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Saptak, Sourmaya and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. CHEERS!
Shahrukh Khan (Player of the match and Lyca Kovai Kings Captain): "It was unfortunate. I had a fall in the hotel last night. There is some pain in the shoulder but should be fine. It is good to have Sai back. He can take the game deep and gives me leverage to get in late and then attack.

I enjoy playing here. The wickets are good and that is the reason we are seeing some high scores here. I do have a lot of bowlers to rotate and play with. It is how the game goes and every bowler is crucial. Gowtham was good tonight and got us two crucial wickets in the middle."

Hari Nishaanth(Siechem Madurai Panthers Captain): "We bowled really well. I am very happy with the bowlers. But chasing 160, you should get a good start. We lost a few wickets. I think not only seniors, but every batter should contribute. Obviously the seniors have to take the onus.

We have two more games coming and we have to improve."
Lyca Kovai Kings have qualified for the playoff and they are the first team to do so in this year's TNPL!
22:44 IST and Local Time: ALL OVER! Lyca Kovai Kings win by 43 runs. A clinical performance for them with both bat and ball. They remain to stand on top of the points table and also become the first team to qualify for the playoffs in TNPL 2024. The going gets tougher for Madurai as they have now lost 3 out of the 5 games. So here is how this game panned out.

Opting to bowl first, SMP started well with the new ball and also picked up a couple of early wickets but were then expensive in the middle and death overs. Ajay Krishna and R Mithun were the pick of the bowlers and picked up 4 and 2 wickets respectively.

With the bat, Lyca posted a decent total of 163 after batting first credit to Sharukh Khan who played a brilliant knock of 51 off just 26 in the end. Sai Sudharsan was also decent and scored 34 off 26 at the top.

Coming to the chase, the  SMP batters looked pretty ordinary and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. None of their batters could get going today. J Kousik and R Mithun were the top scorers and scored 27 and 26 runs respectively.

With the ball, Lyca Kovai Kings were spot on and were brilliant throughout the innings. Gowtham Thamarai Kannan was the pick of the bowlers for them and ended with the figures of 4/20 in his 4 overs. Manimaran Sidharth also bowled well and picked up 2 wickets.
