So, that also brings a wrap to our coverage of this game between Dindigul Dragons and Salem Spartans. For now, this is me Hiren Kumar signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. CHEERS!!
Shijit Chandran (Salem Spartans Captain): "Winning gives you confidence and we are happy to get the win, but a lot of areas to work on for us. The strategy was simple and play the ball on merits and Vivek played really well and if he gets going he cannot be stopped. Kavin batted well as well and happy with the win in the end."
R Vivek (Player of the Match): "I was excited for the last. Many of my friends came from my place to watch it but i could not perform. Happy to perform this time. I do not plan anything. The surface was a bit two paced. Happy to perform at number 3. Want to thank the people who have come from my village."

Time for the presentations.
Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindigul Dragons Captain): "The batting suited their style and it was a bit tacky and we were 15 runs short today. They deserve the win and Vivek played well in the end. Powerplay was even. Set batter should have gone through and that was the difference and Vivek played well. I think the middle order is weak and it is for most teams, we need to look at areas where we need to do well and see how it goes. Just the start of the tournament and we will come back stronger soon."
22:34 IST and Local Time: ALL OVER! Salem Spartans win by 7 wickets and they chase down the total with almost 2 overs to spare. A clinical performance with both bat and ball by them.

Opting to bat first, the Dindigul Dragons did a decent job to post a total of 149/9 in their 20 overs. They were probably 10-15 runs short at the innings break. Vimal Khumar and Baba Indrajith were the pick of the batters for them and scored 47 runs and 51 runs respectively. In the end, Dinesh Raj also played a good cameo of 20 off 10.

With the ball, Salem were excellent with the new ball. They were a bit expensive in the death but made sure they kept picking up wickets at regular intervals.

Coming to the chase, 150 was never going to be easy to defend. Salem openers R Kavin and S Abishiek started well inside the powerplay and scored 46 and 28 runs respectively. Rajendran Vivek was promoted to bat at 3 this time and he played a brilliant knock of 51* runs off just 28 balls and sealed the game for his side.

With the ball, Dindigul bowled well in patches but failed to pick up wickets consistently and their fielding did not help with either. Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier bowled decently and picked up a wicket each. So, Salem Spartans are off the mark on the points table with their first victory of the season.

Stay around for the presentations
50 up for Rajendra Vivek. He has finished the game in style. An outstanding knock for him and Salem register their first win of the season.
18.1 V Diran to R Vivek
4 FOUR! That's it. Salem Spartans win this game by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare as Vivek gets to his fifty as well. Length ball angling in around off, Vivek moves across and laps it away over the keeper as the ball races away to the fence for a boundary to end the game. So, a win for the Spartans by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare to notch up their first win this season.
