We tried to bowl with discipline but failed to do so. If we had done that, it was defendable."

Isuru Udana(Player of the Match): "I think the wickets are very flat and the ground is also small. Taking early wickets is the key and I did it today. There was not much of swing and I tried to bowl it in proper areas. I sticked to my basic and that has paid off."

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Kandy found themselves in quagmire as they lost Dinesh Chandimal, Muhammad Haris, Kamindu Mendis and Pavan Rathnayake inside the powerplay. Their only hope was Andre Fletcher, who continued his good form to register another fifty in this edition's LPL but got out in an unfortunate manner on 50.
