That's all we have for you from this 1st Semi Final encounter of the Women's Asia Cup between India Women and Bangladesh Women. Do join us for the 2nd Semi Final in a couple of hours time now to see who will face India Women in the finals.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh who, along with scorer/analysts Manish Bishnoi brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "Yeah, definitely. Our bowlers did a great job, they executed the plans well. I think there was a lot of pressure on us since we are dominating Asian cricket.

Nothing changes for us, we prepare hard and when we go on the field we don't feel anything different.

Every day they are coming up with a new approach. Every day they are giving me the confidence that is really helping me.

I think consistency is one thing I want from my team.

I think anything works for us. We will watch the game tonight and will come out with a plan in the final."
Renuka Singh Thakur (Player of the Match) : "Yeah I am really happy with the award because we are into the finals now. Well I dont push pressure on myself, I was getting a lot of help from the breeze and I just wanted to keep the basics right.

Well I always love to bowl with the new ball so I did not mind when our captain handed over the ball to me to bowl 4 overs on the trot. All the wickets were special to me."
Player of the Match - Renuka Singh Thakur
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "See, the thing is we couldn't get the ideal start in the powerplay. In T20s when you are not getting runs and losing wickets, it is always going to be difficult.

When the top-order is not scoring runs, it gets difficult. When we play against India our batters play differently. We need to work on our batting unit, I think our coaching staff will come up with different techniques and work on their batting.

It was disappointing that she (Rabeya Khan) couldn't get strike in the end. I am sure she will continue to do better in the games to come."
Time for the Post Match Presentations.
India Women are through to the FINAL of the Women's Asia Cup 2024.
4:25 PM IST & Local Time: That's it!!!! India Women are through to yet another final of the Asia Cup. They get there in style with a thumping 10-wicket win over Bangladesh. They will have to wait for the second semi-final, to be played at the same venue later in the day to know who they will face in the summit clash. Pakistan Women will be up against Sri Lanka Women in the second semi-final.

Earlier in the game, Bangladesh Women won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision backfired immediately as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay.

Renuka Singh Thakur bowled four overs on the trot and finished with magical figures of 3/10. Captain Nigar Sultana held one end together but wickets kept falling from the other.

She played a captain’s knock, scoring 32 but took a lot of time and added more pressure on herself. She faced 51 balls for her 32 but only one other batter got to double figures.

Shorna Akter made an unbeaten 19 off 18 to take the innings to 80/8 from their 20 overs.

Renuka Singh Thakur and Radha Yadav picked up three wickets each while Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma got one wicket apiece.

In reply, Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana raced to 70 after 10 overs and killed the game in the first half.

The Indian openers did give a few chances to Bangladesh but they were poor in the field and failed to hang onto the catches.

The one catch that was taken ended up being a no-ball. Mandhana got a life and made full use of it to reach yet another half century and she finishes the game off with a boundary. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
