That brings us to a close of our coverage of this game between Malaysia Women and Sri Lanka Women. It will be the pair of Soumarya Dutta and Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of our Scorer/Analyst Manish Bishnoi. See you soon!
Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Women Captain and Player of the Match): "Really happy today. My team mates and support staff have supported me today. My mom is there to see me here for the first time in 13 years. So, dedicated to her and thanks to her for coming. I am enjoying my cricket and knows how to handle the pressure and that's what I am doing. We always think about the World Cup and Asia Cup main matches and that's why we are making these many changes. That is all. Happy with the win, but long way to go in the tournament."
Player of the Match: Chamari Athapaththu.
Winifred Duraisingam(Malaysia Women Captain)- "It was a very tough game for us and hopefully the girls something from it and hopefully they will come back stronger in the next game. I think we lack experience at the highest level and when we get to play more against bowlers like the Sri Lankans then we will get better."
It's time for the Post Match Presentation!
16:53 IST and Local Time- Sri Lanka Women keep marching ahead and they've absolutely crushed Malaysia Women here by 144 runs. This has been a ruthless demolition job where the opponents could never match up to their skill level. The Malaysian middle and lower order couldn't offer a resistance as the spinners ran through the wickets. In the end they were bowled out for a meagre 40 in 19.5 overs.

Malaysia got off to a really poor start as they ended up losing three wickets early on in the powerplay. The skipper Duraisingam was dismissed in the very first over. Post this Gimhani came into the attack and the 15 year old proved to be lethal as the batters failed to read her. She got rid of Julia and Elsa Hunter in quick succession.

The runs were curtailed as the Malaysia batters never really got themselves going. Ismail and Hashim had a painful stay at the crease as they consumed too many balls and were dismissed soon after. By the time we reached the halfway stage of the innings, the game had slipped away from the grasp of the Malaysian batters.

The second half of the innings was an absolute disaster for Malaysia as they couldn't even manage to get 10 runs from 10 overs. Najwa stayed still the end and she finished with 9 from 43 balls. Gimhani topped the charts with three wickets while Dilhari picked up a couple. Kavindi also got two while Fernando, Nisansala and Kanchana picked up one each.
