That marks the end of our coverage from the Women's Asia Cup game between Sri Lanka Women and Bangladesh Women. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Good night.
Chamari Athapaththu(Sri Lanka Women Captain): "As a captain, I am proud of my girls. They have played some good cricket. We worked hard on the fielding and other couple of areas. Thanks goes to the support staff for it.

I would like to thank the crowd for it."
Vishmi Gunaratne (Player of the Match): "Yes, I am enjoying this year. This is more special as this is at home and my family is here. Want to thank my parents for their support. The pitch is good and the bowlers did well to keep them down to 111 runs. Have to work on that and play those shots. More innovation is the name of the game. Happy with the win."
Player of the Match: Vishmi Gunaratne.
Nigar Sultana Joty(Bangladesh Women Captain): "See in this kind of surface, when you lose wickets it becomes difficult to comeback. They have used it very well. For the next few games, I would like to see us rectifying the mistake.

Nahida has bowled too good today and I think the crowd have loved it as well. We had a few blips in the fielding. We have to do well in that department."
Time for the post-match presentation.
21:58 IST and Local Time | Sri Lanka Women have started their Women's Asia Cup on a high note by defeating Bangladesh Women by 7 wickets and with 17 balls remaining.

Nigar Sultana Joty opted to bat first after winning the toss and it immediately backfired for her side as they lost 4 wickets inside the powerplay with just 18 runs on the board. They lost Dilara Akter, Ishma Tanjim, Rubya Haider and Ritu Moni cheaply.

But the recovery work was started by the skipper himself. Nigar got some assistance from Shorifa Khatun(5) and Rabeya Khan(10). Nigar Sultana played a lot of dot balls but she took the game deep.

Shorna Akter came in and she bolstered the run rate with her 25 run knock facing just 14 balls. Nigar Sultana Joty stayed unbeaten till the end to score 48 runs from 59 balls with 6 boundaries to help her team post 111 runs losing 8 wickets after 20 overs.

For Sri Lanka Women, Udeshika Prabodhani and Inoshi Fernando took a couple of wickets. Sugandika Kumari, Kavisha Dilhari and skipper Chamari Athapaththu took one wicket each.

Coming to chase the run, Sri Lanka Women lost their talismanic skipper Chamari Athapaththu for just 12 but the youngster Vishmi Gunaratne kept the scoreboard ticking with some boundaries at regular intervals. She got the assistance from Harshitha Madavi and the duo put up a fifty partnership between them in just 40 balls.

Vishmi Gunaratne reached fifty in 43 balls and it was a sensible knock from her. She got out for 51 facing 48 balls but the innings was well taken forward by Harshitha Madavi. She continued to hit the boundaries and scored 33 runs from 31 balls with 4 boundaries. But Kavisha Dilhari(12*) and Hasini Perera(1*) finished the match easily to give their team a victory to start their Women's Asia Cup campaign.

For Bangladesh Women, Nahida Akter took three wickets and was the only one shining with her teammates being a failure to take any wicket.
