Ravichandran Ashwin (Player of the Match): "We haven't done incredibly well in the last few games. Our batting found it a little tough to put par plus scores on the board. We lost Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer was injured. Some crucial blows at the top of the order and at the middle. Its not easy for any team to come out of that. Today's game was very very off course. Even when we were out. I thought we were a bit rusty chasing it but the confidence will come back.

The first half of the season my body wasn't moving at all and I felt I wasn't able to complete my action on many times. I had a little bit of abdomen injury as well so I couldn't really get through it a lot. Having committed to your franchisee and the kind of boys we have in the dressing room I wanted to put my body on the line in many of the games. For me it was about the rhythm and hitting the right lengths. You come from Test match mode. Your body also needs to get into it. I am ageing so its not that easy anymore. As the tournament got on and the amount of repetitions I need. In a T20 its a lot.

I thought we hit really good lengths. Initially when Boulty was bowling there was a little bit in the pitch. There was a bit of seam and swing in the air. Barring that I think the wicket played similar throughout. I don't think there was a lot of dew when RCB was bowling. I thought some exceptional shots were played by our batters and some basic errors were also made so we'd like to correct that going into the next game.

The greatest strength of our team is the exuberance of youth and balance of experienced players. Now Hettie is back and Rovman also got a few boundaries away which is very critical for us. We've got a decent spin attack with Keshav sitting outside. If we can get off to a good start against SRH you never really know."
Ravichandran Ashwin is the player of the match.
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "Yeah, as I said at the toss, what cricket and life has taught us is that we will have great phase and lean phase. But what's important is to bounce back. Coming to the knockouts, we had lost many games. We were questioning ourselves but happy to see everyone perform today.

All the credit goes to the players. We have spend plenty of time watching the opposition's batters and what to bowl and set the field. Credit to Sanga and Shane Bond as well. They have spend plenty of time sitting in the hotel rooms and discussing the plans.

If you look at our batting unit, it's a mixture of a lot of youngsters and some experienced batters. Yashasvi is 22, Riyan is 22, Dhruv is 22. They don't have much experience but to see them perform this way is amazing.

I'm not 100% actually. I guess we have a bug in our team. Lots of coughs and many are unwell.

Very much looking forward. We have got the winning momentum now. We have one traveling day and one practice session and then the game. It will be about keeping everyone fresh before the game."
Trent Boult bowled 14 dot balls tonight. He gets an award for bowling the most number of dot balls.
Most Fours of the Match: Yashasvi Jaiswal (8 Fours)
Super Sixes of the Match: Riyan Parag (2 Sixes), there were 3 players with 2 maximums, but Parag scored more runs.
Fantasy Player of the Match: Avesh Khan (81 Points)
Electric Striker of the Match: Mahipal Lomror (32 off 17, at a Strike Rate of 188.24)
11:42 PM IST, Local Time: Time for the post match presentation.
Rovman Powell (RR): "It was not that difficult situation. It was the situation where you just had to get bat on ball.

I was telling Shimron to be positive. It's just unfortunate that he got out.

I guess so. If it was up to me, I would take it earlier. I would love to have 10-15 balls under my belt. But we have quality batters before me and you just have to accept the role and do your best.

(On grabbing four catches)Sometimes, you need something like that. The first catch was the one that led me to grab four catches. If I had dropped it, I would go it looks to be a tough night.

(On that first catch) When you have good players like Faf and Virat, you want half-chances to come your way. You have to commit and convert it into a chance.

We have been playing good cricket for the entire IPL, barring the last few games. The guys are looking forward to the next game against SRH."
Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): "Yeah, look I think with the dew coming in the second innings, we were a few short on that pitch. You need a few more runs to make it a push. Credit to our boys for making a fight of it.

If you look at naturally assessing the pitch, 180 is a good score. But what we found out in this season with the super sub (Impact Player), the par scores are not really what you normally used to have. On a normal occasion that might have been a par score.

With 1 win from 9, other teams might have their wheels fallen off but we did well to win six on the trot. The boys showed great character, we gave it our best, it is not easy to win six on the bounce. We still feel an extra push for 15-20 runs extra on that pitch would have been a fighting total."
11:24 PM IST and Local Time: The Rajasthan Royals keep themselves alive in the Indian Premier League knocking out the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the eliminator by 4 wickets and 6 balls to spare.

Sanju Samson flipped the coin right and decided to bowl first keeping the dew factor in mind. The Rajasthan bowlers did well restricting RCB to 172/8, their lowest 1st innings total this season. Virat Kohli top scored with 33 with Avesh Khan and R Ashwin sharing 5 wickets between them.

The chase began well for the Royals as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (45 off 30) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore adding 46 for the first wicket. Lockie Ferguson broke the stand in his first over removing TKC.

Jaiswal then added 35 runs for the 2nd wicket with Sanju Samson and was dismissed by Cameron Green in the ninth over. The next over saw skipper Sanju depart for 17 in 13 balls. Riyan Parag, the leading run scorer for RR this season scored a match winning 36 off 26 balls and was cleaned up by Siraj in the 18th over.

Impact player Shimron Hetmyer (26 off 14) and West Indies skipper Rovman Powell (16* off 8) kept their nerves taking the team to a famous victory.

Mohammed Siraj continued his good form with 2/33, both the wickets being taken at a crucial stage. Cameron Green bowled well for 1/28 but with an expensive final over couldn't help the team's cause.

Lockie Ferguson in the penultimate over had 13 to defend but conceded a couple of boundaries and then a six off the last ball as RR romped to the victory with an over to spare.

Rajasthan Royals will now proceed to the 2nd qualifier where they will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chennai. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been knocked out and have to come back with a fresh plan next season.

Hang around for the post match comments and the presentation.
