That's all from this contest, folks! Switch tabs and tune into the second match of today's doubleheader between RCB and DC. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentators Ninaad Dixit and Sidharth Gulati along with scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. CHEERS!
Teams with the most wins at a single venue in IPL history:

52 - KKR (Kolkata)

52 - MI (Mumbai WS)

50 - CSK (Chennai)*

42 - RCB (Bengaluru)

37 - RR (Jaipur)
This marks CSK's first win against RR after enduring four consecutive losses.
Player of the Match Simarjeet Singh (CSK) (Translated from Hindi): "I want to thank the CSK management and physios and trainer. I was injured all year and they have worked a lot with me and thanks to them I am able to perform here today."

"We saw the wicket today, the captain had a chat with me and then we decided on what lengths we can hit on this pitch."
Simarjeet Singh is the Player of the Match
Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings Captain): "It's definitely a wonderful feeling, especially in the last home game of the league stage. So, you know, it's definitely good to get a win under a huge amount of heat. In the batting stage, when we were around 55 for one in the powerplay, I definitely felt that we were cruising in the game. Just one or two wickets here and there can allow the opposition to get back into the game.

As a team, we have naturally gifted stroke players coming in. So, my job was obviously to rotate the strike and try to stay till the end if any hiccups occurred. But overall, I think we were cruising without any pressure until the end.

We like pitches like these, but it also means that our batters have to take much more responsibility. When the wicket is slow and one side is bigger, it's always helpful to bowl slower balls into the pitch
Most Fours in the Match: Daryl Mitchell (4 boundaries)
Super Sixes of the Match: Riyan Parag (3 maximums)
Fantasy Player of the Match: Simarjeet Singh (85 points)
Electric Striker of the Match: Daryl Mitchell (22 off 13 balls at an impressive SR of 169.23)
Time for the post-match presentation...
Daryl Mitchell (CSK): "Nice to get a win on a slower wicket.

"The way we bowled in the powerplay was exemplary. We built pressure and asked them to take risks. The spinners did a great job in the middle (overs). Not sure what would have been a par score, but nice to restrict them and chase it down.

"It's all about working in partnerships and maximizing the powerplay. (Ruturaj) Gaikwad managed to the get the job done. It was amazing.

"Working with our partner, communicating with him, and working out your match-ups. It's about constantly adapting.

"The noise at Chepauk makes it very special (to play here) and we are lucky."
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "Right after the powerplay, the message was that the wicket was a bit slow, perhaps a bit two-paced, and the bounce wasn't as expected. While I was batting in the middle after the powerplay, we were aiming for a score of around 170. However, to be honest, we fell short by about 20-25 runs. They seemed to understand the conditions better than us, and the youngster, the Paaji (Simarjeet Singh), bowled exceptionally well.

(On batting first) Honestly, we weren't very sure what to expect when traveling for the away game. Initially, looking at the wicket, we thought batting first might be better. However, when you know the score to chase, batting second gives you a better idea. We anticipated the wicket to slow down in the second innings, but it turned out to be a touch better than expected.

When playing a night game at Chepauk, it's a no-brainer to chase with the dew coming in. However, in a day game, the summer tends to heat the wicket up. I expected the wicket to slow down, but credit to them, they also batted well. Extending the game to the 18th over was commendable. While it's natural to consider qualification in this tournament, our team meetings emphasize focusing on what we can control. In the debrief, I'd like to remind my teammates to concentrate on our controllables. Despite playing decent cricket, we shouldn't dwell on any perceived shortcomings. Let's stay focused on our process, and hopefully, we'll come out on top in the next game."
7:05 PM IST & Local Time: That's it. A fitting farewell at the fortress Chepauk for the Men in Yellow. CSK have kept their playoff hopes alive by defeating Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets. This is also CSK's 50th win at this venue. They move up to 3rd position on the points table.

Chasing 142 for the win, the hosts got off to a quick start thanks to Rachin Ravindra. The New Zealander smashed a couple of sixes en route to his 27 off 18. Ravichandran Ashwin gave RR the first breakthrough. Daryl Mitchell tried to take the aggressive route but perished for 22, losing his wicket to Yuzvendra Chahal. Moeen Ali couldn’t make an impact on the game as he struggled to get the big shots away. His scratchy innings was ended by the visitor’s Impact Player, Nandre Burger.

Shivam Dube tried to take down Ashwin and succeeded to get 14 runs off the last over from the off-spinner but on the last delivery, he again went for a big hit but only managed to sky one in the air and was taken by Riyan Parag in the deep.

Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed in a bizarre fashion as he was given out, obstructing the field. He came in the line of the throw, aimed at the non-striker’s end, by RR skipper Sanju Samson.

CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad held one end firmly and kept the scoreboard ticking by rotating the strike and punishing the bad balls. He remained unbeaten on 42 and made sure that CSK get over the line. Sameer Rizvi came in as the Impact Sub and hit the winning runs.

Earlier in the match, Rajasthan Royals, who opted to bat, struggled throughout their innings on a tacky pitch at Chepauk. The openers, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal, failed to get off the blocks quickly. Simarjeet Singh broke the opening stand by dismissing Jaiswal for 24. In his next over, the pacer sent Buttler packing as well.

Riyan Parag played a lone fighting knock and remained unbeaten on 47 off 35. Dhruv Jurel played a cameo to take the visitors to 141 for five. Simarjeet finished with three wickets while Tushar Deshpande took two in the last over of the first innings.
18.2 T Boult to S Rizvi
4 FOUR! That's it. CSK complete a five-wicket victory over RR. The defending champions stay alive. A win in their last game (against RCB) will confirm them a spot in the playoffs. RR, on the other hand, have one foot in the final-four despite suffering their fourth defeat (overall) and third in a row. The 2008 champions have two games left and a win in either of them will seal their finals place. Wide full-toss, angling in from outside of off, Rizvi slices it past backward point for a boundary.
18.1 T Boult to S Rizvi
4 FOUR! Scores level. Around the wicket, 134.7 kph. Full length delivery, angling in on off, Rizvi with a front-foot drive past the left of mid-off for a boundary. Easy pickings!
