Suryakumar Yadav (Player of the Match): "I mean, I haven't done this in a very long time. I think today, after the 14th of December, is the first time I've fielded for 20 overs and also batted for nearly 18 overs. So yeah, I'm feeling a bit tired, but hopefully, tomorrow will be better. Nothing to worry about.

I felt it was crucial for me to step up and win today. Coming in to bat with three wickets down, I knew someone had to stay till the end. That's exactly what I did - I stayed at the crease for a while. I was aware that with the heavy dew, once the ball lost its seam, it would become easier for the batsman. So, I just enjoyed my time out there.

It's a technique I've honed at the Mumbai school of arts, having played plenty of cricket at Wankhede. Once the ball stopped seaming, I relied on the shots I've practiced tirelessly in the nets. Regardless of the situation, my intent to play aggressively would have remained the same. I would have definitely approached the game with the same pattern."

Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians Captain): "I don't know which mathematical situation you are talking about. But we have to keep playing good cricket. I think we gave away 10-15 runs extra but batters did a fine job.

My bowling, I mean, I do the stuff which I do. I love bowling in the areas and do what the situation demands. Today, I thought the ball was nipping around and it was important to hit the right areas.

The names you took can take the game away from him. When he said that when two right-handed batters came, can he bowl to the longer boundary. I looked at him and said sorry PC bhai. You have to bowl now. It's great to see him bowl this way with very small margin of errors for the bowlers now.

(On Suryakumar's innings) It's unbelievable. When Suryakumar gets runs, he puts so much pressure on the bowlers that the other batters can go around. It's sheer confidence. He has become one of the best batters going around. He changes the game in a different way. Lucky to have him in my team and hopefully, he will play more such innings going forward."

Tilak Varma (MI): "Initially, it was really tough. We went back to the basics. We decided to play with the straight bat. With Surykumar (Yadav) around, we were always in the game. It went our way.

"I was shocked the way SKY took on (Marco) Jansen. We planned to play with the straight bat. I think he bluffed me (laughs).

"It's a long season, so we'll be getting slow and seaming wickets. We have to prepare for everything. Mentally, we were challenging each other and playing it with the discipline of Tests.

"I wanted to just play the situation. I kept my intent, and played with a straight bat, but I was focused on my scoring options.

"I wanted him (SKY) to get his century. There was no talk about him limping or anything."
Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain): "Probably a couple short. In our batting, the pitch had some tricky conditions for the first 10-12 overs, making it tough for the batters.

Having Sunny out there was crucial for us to reach 170. While having a fast bowler might have been beneficial, I don't believe it would have changed the outcome significantly. T20 cricket is unpredictable, and things don't always go as planned.

SKY's performance really turned the game in their favor. Hopefully, we'll see some more fireworks in the upcoming matches."
23:13 IST and Local Time | That's it. Suryakumar Yadav keeps MI mathematically alive in the race for playoffs with another blazing innings. His second IPL century gives Mumbai their 4th win of the season and they move up to the ninth place on the points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad will now have to depend on other results to go in their favour.

In chase of 174, Mumbai Indians' top-order once again faltered inside the powerplay. Ishan Kishan was the first to go as he got a peach from Marco Jansen and was squared up, edging a length ball straight to Mayank Agarwal in slips. Rohit Sharma’s poor run continued as he went for an ugly slog over mid-wicket, but only managed to balloon it to the wicketkeeper. Naman Dhir faced nine balls but failed to get off the mark and his stay in the middle was ended by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma steadied the innings and made sure that Mumbai got over the line. SKY brought up his second IPL century with a six to seal the victory for the hosts in front of a packed Wankhede. Tilak too remained unbeaten on 37.

Earlier in the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad were put into bat by Mumbai Indians. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head got off to a shaky start and the former lost his wicket just before the powerplay. Head got two lifelines and riding on his luck, the Australian scored 48 runs off 30 balls. Piyush Chawla rattled the SRH batters in the middle overs with a brilliant spell of three for 33. MI skipper Hardik Pandya also chipped in with a three-for. After 17 overs, SRH were 136 for eight but their captain played a nice cameo, scoring 35 off just 17, to lift the visitors’ total to 173.
