That's it from another magnificent game in the Indian Premier League. Rajasthan Royals maintain their run at the top of the table. Lot to mull over for the Mumbai Indians. Our coverage for this game comes to an end. Good bye from the team of Sidharth Gulati, Deepak Prakash, Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is the first player to score multiple tons in IPL before turning 23 years of age:

124 vs Mumbai Indians, Mumbai, 2023 (21y 123d)
104*vs Mumbai Indians, Jaipur, TODAY (22y 116d)*
Seven wins in the first eight matches of an IPL season:

Mumbai Indians (2010)
Punjab Kings (2014)
Chennai Super Kings (2019)
Gujarat Titans (2022)
Rajasthan Royals (2024)*
Sandeep Sharma (Player of the Match): "It's going well. I got fit just two days ago, so this is my first game after recovery. Feeling really good. The pitch was on the slower and lower side, so my plan was to keep bowling those variations, including cutters. It worked out really nicely tonight.

If you're bowling in the end, you have to have a big heart. As we've seen in this IPL, bowlers are under pressure and batsmen are going big. So it's important to keep believing in yourself, and execute your variations and plans. That's what I'm trying to do, and I'm enjoying myself. As you know, two years ago, I went unsold and came in as a replacement. So, any game I get to play, I consider it a bonus and just enjoy myself."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: SANDEEP SHARMA
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "The credit has to go to all the players. We started off really well with the ball in the powerplay. In the end both the left handers played unbelievably well. Some quality spin, R Ashwin and Yuzi Chahal. The way they went after them was really great. Boulty, Sandeep and Avesh came back well and that won the game.

The wicket looked dry but Jaipur is still colder. When the lights come on, it looks a better wicket to bat on. It came true today.

The way Jos and Yashasvi batted for couple of overs after rain we knew that we had to just reset and go back to our momentum. People are professional enough to understand what they need to do when they get a break so I think really happy the way with approach.

Yashasvi always gets confidence. We knew its just a matter of one game. The way he batted in the powerplay, he was calm and composed knowing that things are in control. We knew in the dugout that he is playing some cricketing shots and he will be fine today. I am really happy for him.

We are going to Lucknow. Lets see how the wicket is out there and lets see how it goes."

Royal Challengers Bengaluru - 13 centuries

Yashasvi Jaiswal (104* off 60): "I think I really enjoyed it from the start. I was just trying to make sure that I was watching the ball properly and playing my cricketing shots, which I believe I did today. And I really enjoyed it. I'm just trying to keep doing what I do. Some days are tough, and some days are good. Today, I was just playing; I didn't have anything specific in my mind.

I really want to thank all my seniors who I've been through and the way they have guided me through these eight games has been amazing. Especially, I would like to thank Rajasthan Royals, Sanga sir, and Sanju bhai for believing in me, giving me all the opportunities, and ensuring that I'm trying my best in the practice sessions and on the ground, and learning from it. I'm just so happy when I go out there and enjoy my innings."
Players who have scored multiple centuries against a single team in the IPL:

KL Rahul: 3 against MI

Jos Buttler: 2 against KKR, 2 against RCB

David Warner: 2 against KKR

Chris Gayle: 2 against PBKS

Virat Kohli: 2 against GL

Yashasvi Jaiswal: 2 against MI
Hardik Pandya (MI Captain): "I think we put ourselves in trouble early on. But the way Nehal (Wadhera) and Tilak (Varma) batted was fantastic. We didn't finish well, and that's why we were 15 runs short.

"We gave a lot of width in the powerplay. We had to keep it within the stumps. It was not our best day on the field.

"Everyone's professional. They know their roles. Progression is important. We need to work on our flaws.

"I don't believe much in chopping and changing. The focus is on playing good cricket and sticking to our plans."
11:45 PM: The Rajasthan Royals maintain their royal spot at the top of the points table with a thumping nine wicket win against the Mumbai Indians at home.

MI won the toss, elected to bat first with RR looking to bowl anyways. Sandeep Sharma was back in the XI and celebrated his career best T20 figures of 5/18. Tilak Varma's 65 and his 99 run stand with Nehal Wadhera (49) helped MI post a challenging 179/9, ten runs short of what has been the average 1st innings score this season on this venue.

The Jos-wal pair at the top struck gold tonight adding 74 in 8 overs providing a flying start. The game was interrupted by rain for some 40 minutes at the end of powerplay which yielded 61 runs. Jos Buttler was then removed by Piyush Chawla in the 8th over with Jaiswal continuing the charge getting to his half century off 31 balls.

Skipper Sanju Samson was happy to play around his younger partner as Jaiswal looked at his absolute best hitting the spinners and pacers alike. The duo added unbeaten 109 runs for the 2nd wicket with Samson hitting only 38 in 28 balls.

Piyush Chawla, the experienced campaigner was the pick of the bowlers with 1/33. He created more chances but didn't quite get the support in the field. Jasprit Bumrah (0/37) and Nuwan Thushara (0/28) were taken to the cleaners as well despite bowling some good deliveries.

The victory will keep Rajasthan at the top with 14 points in 8 games. Mumbai Indians hang back at the 7th position with just 3 wins in 8 fixtures.

RR will now play LSG away from home with another long gap of 5 days whereas MI will take on the Delhi Capitals on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Stay tuned for the post match festivities.
