Remember one thing! When Jos Buttler is in the middle, despite not being fully fit to his potential, no game is over! Sunil Narine did nothing wrong. He was spectacular. Kudos to his efforts, but life is not for the faint-hearted ones! Buttler, England's white-ball skipper, turned up and changed the context of the game single-handedly, keeping his nerves until the last ball.

Tomorrow, the caravan continues with GT hosting DC! For now, it's me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Sidharth Gulati, who, alongside our scorers/analysts Manish Bishnoi and Paras Yadav, who brought you all the live-acion of this sizzling fixture! Join us for more such nail-biters. Until then, it's cheers!

Most 100s while chasing in IPL:

Highest number of runs scored in the last 6 overs in successful chases in IPL:

- 96 - RR vs KKR in Kolkata - TONIGHT

- 92 - RR vs PBKS in Sharjah, 2020

- 89 - MI vs CSK in Delhi, 2021

- 86 - KKR vs RCB in Bengaluru, 2019
This is the second time in this IPL that a batter scores a century against RR and his side loses the game, with Buttler hitting the century and winning runs for RR.
Jos Buttler (Player of the Match): "Yeah, I think I keep believing. That was the key today. I was struggling a bit for rhythm. But whenever the negative thoughts came, I thought about completely opposite.

To keep the belief. At times, you feel frustrated and question yourself. But you have to stay calm. There is plenty of time in the IPL and funny things have happened. You have seen Dhoni and Kohli and just try to take it deep. Crazy things have happened and it about believing in yourselves.

I think that's something Kumar Sangakkara has taught me. There is a breaking point to everything. There is a time while batting that when you lose it and lose your wicket. He has told me to stay till the end and the momentum will change.

(His best IPL innings) I would think so. Whenever you are not out and win the game, it's satisfying."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: JOS BUTTLER
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "Absolutely, we are really happy with the win. We were wondering about the wickets we lost. We did lose a few wickets, in fact, 6 of them, and then we had Rovman Powell coming in with a cameo and a couple of sixes from him kept us in the hunt. You need a bit of luck going your way, and they also played well.

Absolutely! With the quality of the spinners they had, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy, on a surface that suited them the most, we were looking at where those couple of sixes would come from. Rovman Powell got us that. Then Jos Buttler did what he does well all the time, what he has been doing for us for a long time. Jos did what he has done for us in the last 6-7 years, so I'm so happy for him.

Buttler's knock should go right on top. Being an opener, if he gets in, no runs are unchaseable. He does something special almost everytime he turns up for us."
Most Fours of the Match: Sunil Narine (13 fours)
Super Sixes of the Match: Sunil Narine (6 sixes, wins the award for scoring more runs than Jos Buttler who had also hit six maximums).
Fantasy Player of the Match: Sunil Narine (234 points)
Electric Striker of the Match: Riyan Parag (34 runs off 14 balls at a SR of 242.86)
11:54 PM IST, Local Time: Time for the post-match presentation.

- 219 – MI vs CSK, 2019
Rovman Powell (RR): "There are emotions all over the place. I didn't plan to take on Sunil Narine because I knew he was their best bowler. But when it comes down to 80 runs off 30 balls, you have to take your chances. I just backed my strengths, took my chances and that came off today.

For the last 12-odd months, I have been whispering in his (Narine's) ears; he's blocked out everyone (chuckles). I asked Pollard, Bravo, and Pooran; hopefully, before they (West Indies selectors) select the team, they can crack his code.

The morale of the team is very good. What I appreciate is communication. Even when I wasn't playing, communication was precise and clear. An international player doesn't get it on the ego when the communication is clear, and it was here.

The guys are in a very good space; hopefully, it will continue. I've been telling the coaching staff that I bat at number 4 or 5 for West Indies (chuckles)."
Shreyas Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders Captain): β€œI would second on that. A tough pill to swallow. I really didn’t think we would get into this situation.

It’s a funny game again. He was striking the ball well and he was playing on 60. It’s hard to digest but have to take it on the chin and move on. Yeah at this point of time, you know that you have to bowl your best delivery. But it goes here and there and you get hit out of the park. It would be a great learning for them. I’m just hoping that we go back and come back stronger and execute in the next few games.

As I mentioned earlier, Narine is a great asset to the team. He is a character who gives momentum while batting at the top of the order.

(On giving Varun the last over) Since he (Buttler) was striking it clean, I thought lets take the pace off and ask him to use the power. When you have five fielders inside the circle, it’s tough.

Just let it go. Sink in. It’s about relaxing and rejuvenating. We had a tough game. It was humid out there in the middle. Just think about it and learn from the mistake. We have 2-3 days off. We will look to think about it and come back stronger."
