Obviously, I had a really good start with the bat, and I think my role in the team is just to bat for as long as I possibly can. And I was really fortunate to be able to do that today and, yeah, look, then was able to pick up some wickets with the ball as well.
I think the wicket did exactly what we suspected it would do this morning. We saw it was just a bit dry and figured it would crack up and get a bit drier throughout the day. What I'm probably most pleased with is my concentration throughout. I definitely set goals of wanting to stay out there for a lot of overs and anchor the team. I know I've had problems before with concentration and getting out when I've been pretty comfortable. So, yeah, just really pleased with myself and the way I was able to bat for a long time today."

Having won the toss and making no hesitation other than batting first. West Indies ended up with an impressive total on the board of 269/8 in their 50 overs. They started off slowly in the 1st Powerplay slowly and lost the wicket of Rashada Williams cheaply in the 3rd over itself. Then the Partnership between Hayley Matthews and Shemaine Campbelle who added a 102 runs stand steadied the ship of West Indies for a comprehensive total. Skipper Hayley Matthews, batted throughout the innings and ended up scoring a magnificent 140 from 150 balls. Shemaine Campbelle ended up being the second highest run scorer in the Innings by scoring 45 off 71 balls. On the other hand, Sadia Iqbal (2/38) and Tuba Hassan (2/48) were the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan. Pakistan were set a target of 270 to chase and win the 1st ODI against West Indies.
In reply, Pakistan needed a good start with the bat but they lost two of their top order batters, Sidra Ameen and Bismah Mahroof cheaply within 5 overs.
