Milestone
That brings the curtains down on our coverage of this fifth and final T20 international between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe! For now, it will be Soumarya Dutta, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Anirudh Modi and Saipavan Janaki besides our Scorer/Analyst Ashok Dayma. See you soon!
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain): "Yeah, the way we played the series was good. Today Riyad had some good form and very impressive with this series. I think we didn’t start well today and the opportunity to bat in the middle we are well and looking forward to the World Cup. We have some more opportunity to prepare well for that, Thanks."
Taskin is not here to collect the award. Shanto collects on his behalf.
PLAYER OF THE SERIES: Taskin Ahmed
Brian Bennet (POTM)"It was a great effort from the team today and really glad to be able to get over the line. We have a lot of young players in the team and the coaching staff has backed us well. Hopefully we can produce better results in the future."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Brian Bennet
Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe Captain): "Thank you very much, it's nice to go home with a win. Like you said we were close in the last two games and we could have won those but it's a young team and we made some mistakes. Really happy to close out with a win.

Nice to contribute, last time too I said the only thing that is missing is me scoring runs. We were losing by small margins and it's nice to contribute towards a win. Lot of positives even though we lost the series 4-1. This was a young side and they showed that we have a future in T20I cricket. I am sure these young guns will take Zimbabwe cricket forward."
Time for the post match presentation...
12:40 IST and 13:10 Local time- Zimbabwe have romped home comfortably in the end and they end the series on a high! They've won by 8 wickets and it was an incredible effort from Sikandar Raza, their skipper! The top order has been disappointing for the Chevrons throughout but today was a different story. This is just the motivation the Zimbabweans would have required at the end of a hard fought series and bow out of the series with their heads held high.

Zimbabwe finally had a good start to the powerplay in the final game of the series and it was courtesy Brian Bennet! He took a liking to Mahedi Hasan and smashed him for a couple of sixes and flurry of boundaries. Marumani struggled at the other end and was eventually dismissed for 1 by Shakib but Bennet had done the job by then. Sikandar Raza joined him at the crease and duo ended the powerplay at 41/1 for the Chevrons.

The duo took their time initially as they were on the defensive till the 10th over! However Raza got going from there onwards and the pressure fell on Bangladesh. Briant Bennet continued with his good form and went on to get his first T20I fifty. He accelerated once he got past the milestone and the partnership kept going from strength to strength. By the end of the 15th over, the deficit was down to 45 runs from the final five overs of the innings.

Bangladesh came in with three spin bowling options in this game and that proved to be their undoing. Mahedi was taken to the cleaners early on and Rishad Hossain was also quite expensive. Saifuddin went for 55 runs in his four overs. Shakib was extremely economical as was Mustafizur but the batters neutralized their impact as they didn't give the experienced bowlers any wickets.
18.3 M Hasan to J Campbell
1 DONE!! Good length delivery on the outside off, turning away from the left-hander, who pushes it towards the covers for a single. Easy win! Zimbabwe win this game by 8 wickets.
18.2 M Hasan to J Campbell
0 Flatter delivery on the outside the off stump line, Campbell leans forward and tries to defend but misses it.
18.1 M Hasan to J Campbell
4 FOUR RUNS!! Scores are level. Flighted delivery on the middle and leg stump line, Campbell gets forward and flicks it over the short midwicket region for four runs.

4 FOUR RUNS!! Back of a length delivery on the middle and leg stump line, Raza hangs back and pulls it towards the deep backward square leg region for four runs.
Raza is struggling with cramps but he is not done yet! He is looking to finish off this game and get his side over the line. Zimbabwe need 9 runs to win from 13 balls now.
17.5 M Saifuddin to S Raza
6 SIX MORE RUNS!! This time over the covers! Fuller length delivery on the outside the off stump line, Raza gets forward and lifts that hard over the covers. The ball goes flat and over the rope for another six runs.
17.4 M Saifuddin to S Raza
6 SIX RUNS!! Raza thinking to finish this game early! Back of a length delivery on the outside the off stump line, taking pace off. Raza picks this one well and pulls it hard over the midwicket region for a big six - 99 M.
17.3 M Saifuddin to S Raza
2 Short of a length delivery on the outside off, Raza punches it towards the covers for a couple of runs to the tally.
