Earlier coming to bat first in that game, USA openers gave them a solid start. Monank Patel and Steven Taylor had put up a 104 run partnership for the opening stand and Taylor got out for 54. However Monank continued his boundary hitting and ended up scoring 68 runs from 35 balls. Andries Gous got his second T20I half-century in his second innings in this format. Later in the first innings, cameos from Aaron Jones(34*) and Shadley van Schalkwyk(13*) helped the home side to reach 230 runs after the 20 overs losing 3 wickets.
For Canada, Rishiv Ragav Joshi, Parveen Kumar and skipper Saad Bin Zafar took one wicket each.
Coming to chase the run, Canada had lost their opener Srimantha Wijeyratne for a golden duck but Aaron Johnson and Pargat Singh stitched a good partnership to help their team to be in a comfortable position in the run chase. Johnson batted for 40 balls and added 74 runs with 6 fours and an equal number of maximums. Pargat played an anchoring knock of 27 runs. Later Nicholas Kirton and Harsh Thaker played a couple of quickfire cameos but that was not enough for Canada to chase down 231. They ultimately fell flat by 31 runs after getting bundled out for 199.
