1:24 AM IST, 8:54 PM Local Time: Leicestershire start off their T20 Blast campaign with a thumping 7-wicket victory over a strong Yorkshire side.

The bowlers did a neat job of restricting the Vikings for 151/7 in the 20 overs, Josh Hull and Ben Mike sharing 5 wickets amongst them and Shan Masood top scoring with 45 in 32 balls.

The chase began strongly with the openers adding 79 runs for the first wicket at the end of the powerplay. Rishi Patel hit 30 in 18 balls with Sol Budinger scoring 50 in 22 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Patel also contributed with 3 maximums.

Louis Kimber continued the attacking intent with 26 off 14 balls with the finishing blows delivered by Wiaan Mulder who played as a pure batter and scored 28 in 17 balls remaining unbeaten with skipper Peter Handscomb.

Jafer Chohan picked up 2/32 in his 4 overs, his best figures in T20 cricket but his side didn't have enough runs on the board to choke Leicestershire. Dom Bess picked up a wicket but conceded 30 runs in his 3 overs.
