01:02 IST and 20:32 Local Time | Yorkshire Vikings have started their campaign with a comprehensive victory over Worcestershire Rapids by 8 wickets.

Winning the toss and opting to Bat first, turned out to be disaster for the visitors . Worcestershire were bowled out for a mere 101 runs with 26 balls remaining. They got off to a bad start in the powerplay with a score of 33-4. Ethan Brookes showed some fight with his 32 ball 42 but was not supported at the other end  by any of Worcestershire's batter .
Daniel Moriarty was the pick of the bowlers for Yorkshire with impressive figures of 25/4 in his quota of 4 overs. Dom Bess and Dominic Leech chipped  in with 2 wickets each.

Going into the chase Yorkshire never looked nervous. They got off to a commanding start from their stylish left hand openers with Malan contributing 25 off 17 balls and Lyth contributing with his 31 ball Half-century. Openers were terrific right from the start of the run chase as they took on the bowlers right from the start. Joshua Cobb and Adam Finch chipped in with a wicket each but an unbroken partnership between Root and Lyth (53 runs) ensured there is no hiccups in the chase and win the match with 8 wickets left in the hut.

4 BOUNDARY AGAIN !! what an expensive over it has been. Full toss on the pads and Lyth just flicks it with his wrist and hits it towards square leg for a cracking boundary.

4 FOURR AGAIN! Back to back boundaries from Lyth. Fuller delivery around off stump, Lyth drives it firmly towards left of diving mid off fielder and earns himself another boundary.
