Trivia Alert-

This is the only third time when two batters from a side has scored centuries in both the innings of a Test match. The previous two instances are ā¬‡

1) Ian Chappell and Greg Chappell- vs New Zealand(1974)
2) Azhar Ali and Misbah-ul-Haq- vs Australia(2014)
Dhananjaya de Silva (Sri Lanka Captain)- "Happy for myself as I've contributed to the team's victory. The wicket had something for the fast bowlers so I discussed Kamindu about playing the balls late and that has paid off. I wanted to shift the gears once we get the scoreboards moving and I did that. Kasun is a very fine bowler and he kept hitting the right areas as there was not much help from the pitch in the fourth innings. Presently, I have no idea about the Chattogram pitch We will go there and see what it is."
Player of the Match - Dhananjaya de Silva
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain): "The way the seam bowlers started the match for us, Iā€™m really proud of them. But we have to improve our batting with the new ball and will look to come stronger in the next match. He(Mominul) was exceptional in the second innings, he showed his experience and I hope he continues his form in the next game as well."
13:17 IST and 13:47 Local Time | Sri Lanka have clinched a memorable victory riding on the batting brilliance of their skipper Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis. Later the pacers came into the play and took the wickets to keep their team in a comfortable position. That is the same thing that the Lankan team has replicated through the four days of the Test match.

Coming to bat first in the very first day of the test match, Sri Lanka found themselves in trouble as they had lost 5 wickets in just 57 runs losing big wickets in the form of Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal. But Dhananjaya de Silva took the charge and got the perfect company from Kamindu Mendis, who was just playing his 2nd Test innings. They batted for almost 2 sessions and added 202 runs in their partnership. Dhananjaya brought his century and got out scoring 102 runs hitting 12 boundaries and a maximum. Kamindu Mendis also got his maiden hundred in Test cricket. He also got out for 102 hitting 11 boundaries and 3 maximums. But just after their dismissal, the visitor's lower order fell like a pack of cards and got wrapped up with 280 runs on the board.

For Bangladesh, debutant Nahid Rana was impressive with the ball picking up 3 wickets for 87 runs. Khaled Ahmed also took 3 wickets giving 72 runs away. Shoriful and Taijul took one wicket each.

Coming to bat in the second innings of the Test, Bangladeshi top order batted miserably. They lost their top 3 inside 31 runs. Mahmudul Hasan Joy showed some resistance against the new ball. Taijul Islam was the highest run getter for his 47 run knock. The lower order of Bangladesh added a few runs on the board. Khaled Ahmed added 22 runs and Shoriful added 15 runs to help their team post 188 in their first innings.

Among the Sri Lanka bowlers, Vishwa Fernando took 4 wickets. Kasun Rajitha took three wickets while Lahiru Kumara also took 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka came to bat in their second innings with a 92 run lead and this time, their top order contributed nicely as Dimuth Karunaratne got runs. Dimuth added 52 runs from 101 balls hitting 7 fours and a maximum. But they got reduced to 126 for 6 and then, Dhanjanjaya and Kamindu stepped up again. They scored at a faster rate this time and got century in the second innings too. Dhananjaya played a captain's knock again by scoring 108 runs off 179 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes. Kamindu Mendis got even more dangerous after his captain's dismissal and took on the bowlers to hit them here and there. He got to his first 150+ run knock in the test cricket. He decorated his 164 run knock with 16 boundaries and 6 maximums. Prabath Jayasuriya gave him a good company by posting 25 runs beside his name. Sri Lanka posted a mammoth 419 runs on the board giving the home side a colossal target of 511 runs.

For Bangladesh side, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 4 wickets. Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam took a couple of wickets while Khaled Ahmed and Shoriful Islam took one wicket each.

Zakir Hasan(19), Mahmudul Hasan Joy(0), Najmul Hossain Shanto(6), Shahadat Hossain Dipu(0) and Litton Das(0) got out cheaply to see their team reeling at 47 for 5. Mehidy Hasan Miraz registered a 66 run partnership with his former captain Mominul Haque and added 33 runs beside his name. Shoriful Islam also showed a brief resistance for his 42 ball 12 run innings. Meanwhile Mominul Haque batted in a brilliant manner and remained unbeaten on 87 from 148 balls with 12 fours and a maximum. Bangladesh eventually got out for 182 losing the match by 328 runs.

49.2 L Kumara to N Rana
W It's done. Out!! Kumara takes the last one. Mominul gets stranded on 87*. Kumara pitches it up on short of length on middle stump line, angling towards leg. Rana takes off his eyes and gets an edge towards the gully region. Dhananjaya runs back from third slip to take the catch. Sri Lanka go up in the two Test match series 1-0.
49.1 L Kumara to N Rana
0 Starts up with a bouncer on the off, Rana sees it off to the keeper. How can he survive?
