Milestone
That's it from the coverage of this game as the Super 6 stage winds to a close. The semis are approaching soon and make sure you join us for those matches. Stick with us for all other fixtures from all around the globe and across formats. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Soumarya Dutta alongside scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Uday Saharan (India Captain): "Happy with the form of the players. The boys are doing really well for us. Congrats to Nepal for playing so well. They are a spirited side let me tell you. We thought of batting first. Gave opportunities to others to get time in the middle. We want to focus on the processes and want to continue the good work that we have been doing. We will be prepared for the SA battle because they are a quality side and we have played well and want to do well for them. I want to always contribute to the team and my own form. Player of the Match awards are there. it will come and go, I don't worry about it that much. I think Avanish is fine and doing well. He is resting at the moment. Thank You."
Dev Khanal (Nepal Captain): "Definitely. Playing in the World Cup is a big honour for us. Playing here and beating Afghanistan to be here. Batting for 50 overs is great but areas to work on in batting. Strike rotation is where we have to work on. Then boundaries will come easily. I have definitely learnt a lot. Disappointed with myself as I got starts. Looking forward to do well for the senior team in the future. Hope so."
Sachin Dhas (Player of the Match): "Really feeling good. Sir told me that I have to bat up the order and took the opportunity with both hands. The team needed it. Uday and me spoke about taking it deep till the end. Tomorrow is birthday for me. Today is my dad's birthday and this award is his gift for him. My Number 10 is there because my role model is Sachin Tendulkar. So, my jersey number is 10 and my name is Sachin."
9:46 PM IST, 6:16 PM Local Time: The match finally comes to an end and this has been a solid performance from India as they beat Nepal by 132 runs and stays unbeaten in the tournament. Chasing 298 for the win, Nepal got off to a promising start through their openers Deepak Bohara and Arjun Kamal as they put on 48 for the first wicket. Bohara scored 22 while Kumal scored 26. But they lost 6/12 in the middle to go from 65/1 to 77/7 and lost the game there only. The skipper Dev Khanal scored a good looking 33 off 53 balls. The last wicket pair of Aakash Chand and Gupta showed great resistance with 18* and 29* respectively to finish with 165/9 in the end off 50 overs. 22 extras given by the fielding side.
