That's it from the coverage of this game. Do join us tomorrow for more cricketing actions across the globe and across formats in our network. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide, and Sidharth Gulati alongside scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Hugh Weibgen (Australia Captain): "Yes, it was a complete performance. Dixon was good at the top and 266 was a decent score. Everyone contributed well with the ball and with the bat. First few games, we went too hard. Today, we methodically calculated. Started well and then accelerated towards the end. Cal was great he is a good kid. The boys know their roles and that's what helps us a lot. Yes, lot of bench strength for us and that is a good headache for us going forward. I don't know how this Super 6 stage works to be honest. The system is confusing. So, yes happy with the win. But we are focussed on the next game and aim is to win that as well. Thank You."
Ben McKinney (England Captain): “I think the first and foremost, Australia played really well. I thought they got 50 too many. It was above par on this pitch.

(On the dropped catch) Benky is one of the best fielders in our team and these things do happen in cricket.

I think the way we have chased in the tournament in the first two games, it was brilliant. We wanted to do it the same today. But, unfortunately, we failed to do so today. We had two most destructive players in the field on the crease today. But it wasn’t to be.

Against the West Indies, we didn’t perform great. But we were confident coming today. But we will try to finish with a win against Zimbabwe and hope for the best."
Hugh Weibgen (Player of the Match): “Yeah. For sure, it’s up right there. And to get the win in the end makes it more special. To have some partnerships with some mates was good.

We have played a few games here. We know the ball turns here and the spinners get some assistance. The plan was to get myself in. Hit some ones and twos and then take down the bowlers.

I was in quite early. I thought I could hit when the width was offered. Fortunately, I was dropped early and happy to pounce on the opportunity. In the last game, I went cross-bat shot. But I tried to stay still and play straight today."

9:11 PM IST, 5:41 PM Local Time: A comprehensive win for Australia as they have outplayed England by 110 runs under the DLS method. The match was reduced due to lightning and light rain. But that did not dampen the spirits of the Aussies as they outplayed England in all facets of the game to win easily and move one step closer for a place in the semi-finals.

Let's recap as to how things unfolded today. England won the toss and decided to bowl first under overcast conditions. Australia lost Sam Konstas early. Harry Dixon scored 53 off 63 balls. But it was the Australian skipper Hugh Weibgen who led from the front with his majestic 120 off 126 balls under tough conditions. He was the game changer and was the difference between the two sides. Hicks scored 19 off 33 balls. Tom Campbell scored 13 off 34 balls. Ollie Peake scored 25 off 28 balls while Rafael MacMillan scored 19* off 10 balls. 16 extras given by the fielding side as Australia finished with a competitive 266/6 in 50 overs.

Theo Wylie was the pick of the bowlers for England with figures of 4/42 in 10 overs. A wicket apiece for Sebastian Morgan, and  Tazeem Chaudry Ali.

Chasing initially 267 for the win, England came out all guns blazing with skipper Ben McKinney looking good and unstoppable with his 22 runs off 10 balls. But wickets fell at the other end and they were reduced to 60/4 in 9.3 overs when lightning and rain intervened and delayed play for 2.5 hours. When play resumed with the revised target being 215 in 24 overs. But it was a free fall as England kept on losing wickets. Thain scored 13, Shaikh scored 14. Charlie Allison briefly played well for his 26 off 16 balls but fell towards the end. In the end, with the help of 9 extras, England were bowled out for 104 in 16.5 overs.

Callum Vidler was the pick of the bowlers for Australia with figures of 4/29 in 5 overs. Rafael MacMillan supported him well with figures of 3/16 in 3 overs. Tom Straker picked up a couple of wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs. Tom Campbell picked up a wicket as well as he got the last wicket to fall.

So, Australia won the game by 110 runs under the DLS method to go top of the points table and move closer to the semi-final spot. Stay tuned for the presentations.
16.5 T Campbell to T Chaudry
W Chaudry holes out in the deep. A comprehensive performance from Australia as they beat England by 110 runs on the DLS method. Campbell bowls a flighted delivery on the stumps, Chaudry takes a step forward and looks to slog it into the leg side but completely miscues it. Konstas from long on runs to his right and takes a safe catch to put an end to this fixture. All smiles in the Australian camp as they complete a fantastic win over their rivals.
16.4 T Campbell to F Ahmed
1 Tossed up outside the leg stump, Ahmed gives himself some room and drives it wide of long off for a run.
16.3 T Campbell to T Chaudry
1 Fuller delivery on middle, Chaudry hits it aerially and falls short of the long on fielder. Single taken.
16.2 T Campbell to F Ahmed

16.1 T Campbell to T Chaudry
1b Slower off-break around leg, Chaudry swings at it but misses. It turns past the leg stump and the keeper again fumbles it and concedes a bye.
