It's the end of an Ellyse Perry and Royal Challengers Bangalore-dominated game in the WPL! RCB are through to the playoffs! Tomorrow, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants go head-to-head to end the league phase of the second WPL edition.

For now, it's me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Hitesh Peddurwar, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya, brought you all the live-action of this fixture! We will meet again. Until then it's cheers!
Best bowling figures for Ellyse Perry in T20s:

6/15 vs Mumbai Indians, Delhi, Tonight

5/22 vs Melbourne Renegades, Perth, 2023

4/12 vs India Women, Sydney, 2016

4/13 vs India Women, Canberra, 2020

4/20 vs England Women, Melbourne, 2008

Ellyse Perry (POTM): "Ah... Sometimes, it just goes your way. Isn't it Mel Jones? The girls were eager to play this important game. It was nice to come out and play a great game with the girls; it was just really enjoyable. It's great to get a win against such a great team.

Have been working hard with my coaches back home in the last three years. The conditions were quite good, seaming around off the surface. It helped me. I just managed to find a good length, and it did a little bit off the wicket.

The games come thick and fast, and I loved that partnership with Richa Ghosh and it was great to spend some time out there in the middle. It was definitely not an easy chase. Things became tricky in the middle.

We are getting used to the conditions in Delhi and looking forward to playing some good cricket here. It's the same opponent in the Eliminator and hoping to have a final bound (chuckles)."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Ellyse Perry
Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore Women Skipper): "Yeah, definitely, last match, losing by one run was not an easy one. But the conversation we had before this match was that that one run doesn't define us. We just have keep our heads high and keep believing in ourselves.

Sajana had the promotion and had a good start. Even Hayley batted well. But there was calmness around the group since the morning and since the team meeting. It was a brilliant spell to watch from Perry.

It was an important match for us. Since we have arrived in Delhi, we have had two tough losses. I was standing at mid off and was going 'Wow' watching Perry's spell.

It's pretty much like quarter-final. We just thought if we are good enough, we will play good cricket and qualify. We didn't want to look at what other teams are doing and net run rate and happy to get to the playoffs."

10:39 PM IST, Local Time: Time for the post-match presentation.
Ellyse Perry’s figures of 6/15 are the best-ever in WPL’s history.
Richa Ghosh: β€œI decided to take some time while walking out to bat. Because when I was keeping, I saw that a few balls were keeping a bit low. So, I decided to get set before I play strokes. Everyone cheered us that if we win the next game, we will qualify for the playoffs. It was a superb spell from Perry. She was bowling beautifully and it was nipping. I waited a bit while playing my strokes and it helped me.”
Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians Women Skipper): β€œYeah, Perry bowled really well today. I think none of us took the responsibility today and took the game deep. We tried our best today. But we dropped a few chances. The bowlers gave their 100% but there weren’t enough runs on the board. None of us batted according to the situation. But she did bowl well today and you have to give credit to her. We will make sure that we sit together and make our plans for the next game.”
10:26 PM IST and Local Time: Ellyse Perry, first with the ball and then, with the bat, slaps the defending champions as Royal Challengers Bangalore win their final league match by 7 wickets and seal the playoffs spot in the Eliminator! This is the first time that RCB beat MI in the WPL!

A great decision by Smriti Mandhana at the toss as she won it and opted to bowl first. Hayley Matthews (26 off 23) and S Sajana (30 off 21) gave the Mumbai-based franchise a good start, adding 43 runs, despite the former playing and missing a few balls. Once Sophie Devine removed Matthews, MI collapsed the big time, losing wickets like a pack of cards in the bowling of Perry, who ripped apart the opposition with the best-ever figures in the history of WPL that read 4-0-15-6!

Young wicket-keeper Priyanka Bala hit an unbeaten 18-ball 19, helping Mumbai cross the 100-run mark. Sophie Sophie Molineux, Asha Shobana, and Shreyanka Patil each took a wicket in the final overs to skittle out MI for just 113 runs in 19 overs.

RCB lost both their openers early on in the run-chase and also lost Devine cheaply. They were at 39/3 in 6.1 overs. Ellyse Perry (40* off 38) and Richa Ghosh (36* off 28) played with calmness and took calculative risks, adding 76* runs for the 4th wicket and finishing the match in the 15th over with 7 wickets in hand.

Shabnim Ismail bowled a fiery spell, ending with figures of 4-0-19-1. Had Nat Sciver-Brunt held onto a couple of catches, Ismail and MI could have had more wickets, adding pressure on RCB. Matthews and Sciver-Brunt also picked up a wicket each. But MI's poor fielding display might hide amidst the batting horrors!

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations!
