That wraps up another thrilling last-ball encounter, folks! Yesterday, it was Sajeevan Sajana stealing the show with her match-defining six, and today, Sobhana Asha takes the spotlight with her lethal bowling, clinching a 5-wicket haul to secure the victory for her side.

For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. CHEERS!
Asha Shobana(Player of the Match): " Lot of struggle, lot of hard work. Finally, the victory is sweet, I am not thinking about my five wickets, I am more happy because we won our first game in front of our home crowd. I knew that the situation would be something like this, a lot of homework was done.

I saw that Grace was going against the turn so I thought to drag my length and see if she tries to go across the line then she might get a top edge or get bowled. I was ready to get smashed here, I was sure that I am gonna get the wickets too."
Player of the Match: Asha Shobana
Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore Women Captain): "Yeah, I think pretty nice game. I think even the last match was really close and I think the same equation came up on the board again. And we saw what happened in the last match against Mumbai and Delhi. So I woke up all the gods today because I was at overs and I was just trying to pray and I think the bowlers did an amazing job today.

Yeah, that's what I thought when I saw three balls, nine runs, and the boundary, and I think pretty similar equations of last night. Of course, we were all watching the last match, but I think had a lot of faith in Sophie and even I think the way she bowled in the last tour was just brilliant. And I think to see Asha the way I think she bowled for the five wickets, I think that was a game changer for us.

Whenever I used to see her on the field, she used to ask me to give her the ball.
She's having only the second season of WPL, but not to forget, I think she's a really experienced player. She's been around the domestic circuit for a very long time and I'm really happy that she's getting all the due for her talent.

Well, definitely. I think in the second strategic timeout, we thought we could go past 165 because I think we're really cruising at that point.

And definitely, we thought the wicket was a little slower, so we thought that 165 plus would be a good total to have. But nevertheless, I think the way Richa and Meghana batted was amazing."
Sixes of the Match: Grace Harris (2 sixes).
Electric Striker of the Match: Richa Ghosh
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony!
Sophie Molineux: "Yeah, it's pretty incredible today. The fans were amazing. It was so loud here, and to get up at the end there was pretty special. I had a sneaky feeling that might have been the case, so I'd sort of been thinking about it, the eight overs before that, but, yeah, great opportunity. And the girls fought hard right to the end, which is really cool.

(The wicket of Healy) I have not seen the replay yet, but the ball before that, I dragged it to the leg, so had to do something. But, yeah, Midge is a dangerous player, so to get her out early was big for us.

Yeah, it literally felt, especially in that second innings, it was a roller coaster. There were a couple of overs there. We thought we were in front and then they were in front and then that changed a few times as well. And on top of that, the crowd was incredible, and so loud.

I think we got some amazing senior players, too, that were able to make some really tough calls and some smart calls at the right time. And, yeah, it was good fun, and senior players making some big decisions.

(
Sobhana Asha) I've never seen anything like it, but, yeah, she bowed incredibly well. She kept things simple, played a massive role for us and, yeah, we were super pumped for her."
Alyssa Healy(UP Warriorz Captain): " We are learning a lot at every time, I think tonight for us it was a great opportunity to learn. This time we took the game down to the wire, we need to learn how to get over the line. Yeah, we took a lot of positives from the game, at one point we felt we would not be able to take it down the wire but we did it. It's a T20 game and you know anything can happen at any moment of time. Coming late into the camp, they did a lot of work in the fielding and the efforts paid off in the ground. Yeah, Vrinda is an exciting player, she was outstanding today. "
This is the first time in the WPL history that RCB Women have won a game defending a total.
10:55 PM IST, Local Time | Deepak: All hail Sobhana Asha, who single-handedly turned the tide of the game in favor of RCB Women by claiming five crucial wickets. Another nail-biter and this time Royal Challengers Bangalore Women held their nerve and win the battle by a slender margin of 2 runs.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, RCB Women posted 157/6 in 20 overs. They lost Sophie Devine, Smriti Mandhana, and Ellyse Perry cheaply and were in a dire situation, but Sabbhineni Meghana and Richa Ghosh stepped up and steadied the sinking ship. The duo notched up their respective half-centuries, with Meghana scoring 53 runs and Richa contributing 62 runs. Shreyanka Patil’s last-ball six has helped RCB post 157/6 in 20 overs.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad bagged a couple of wickets for UP Warriorz, while Grace Harris, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Ecclestone, and Deepti Sharma celebrated a solitary wicket.

In pursuit of 157 runs, UP Warriorz lost skipper Alyssa Healy for a mere 5 runs off 4 balls. Vrinda Dinesh and Tahlia McGrath then began to build a partnership, adding 38 runs for the second wicket. However, Sobhana Asha turned the tide by dismissing both well-set batters in the same over, with Dinesh and McGrath scoring 18 and 22 runs, respectively, leaving UP Warriorz in a precarious position.

Grace Harris (38)  and Shweta Sehrawat (31) started the rescue mission, and the pair scored at a decent pace and were taking the game far from RCB Women as they added 77 runs for the fourth wicket. However, Sobhana Asha shattered their momentum by dismissing both well-set batters and Kiran Navgire (1) in the same over following the final strategic time-out. With this, Asha completed her 5-wicket haul, completely shifting the momentum of the game in favor of RCB.

Poonam Khemnar and Deepti Sharma kept UP Warriorz in the hunt till the end and just like yesterday, once again the equation boiled down to 5 runs required off the final ball. However, unlike Sajeevan Sajana's heroics, Deepti couldn't replicate the feat, and Warriorz fell agonizingly short of the target by just 2 runs.

Sobhana Asha shone with the ball for RCB, claiming 5 wickets and becoming the first player to complete a 5-fer for RCB Women. Sophie Molineux and Georgia Wareham contributed a solitary wicket.

Stick around for the presentation....
