So, that also brings a wrap to our coverage of this game. For now, this is me Hiren Kumar signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. CHEERS!!
Shadab Khan (Islamabad United Captain): "Obviously, it was a tough decision to rest Naseem and Rumman. But, as for the plan, it was good to give rest to the main bowlers, given that we were playing two matches on the bounce.

Faheem Ashraf is our main player. He is a crisis man. We know his calibre. He has a good record in Pindi. We did not involve him much in the discussions, but we always knew his ability. We gave him confidence. He had a good game last night. Today, again, he showed his worth.

I didn't know that we are undefeated against Karachi since 2021. But it's a good record to have. We would love the same record against the rest of the teams."
Faheem Ashraf (Player of the match): "In the beginning, the pitches were not well suited for me and that was the talk with me and the team management and they said me that I will have a crucial role in Rawalpindi and gave me a lot of confidence.

When you do well in one department, you get the confidence to perform in the other department as well. We were without Naseem Shah and we did well to not miss him and it was important for all other bowlers to step up."
Player of the Match: Faheem Ashraf
Super Power of the Day: Tymal Mills
Batter of the Match: Kieron Pollard
Moment of the Match: Faheem Ashraf (for the first ball six)
11:28 PM IST and 10:58 PM Local Time: We are ready with the post-match presentations...
Shan Masood (Karachi Kings Captain): "It's Disappointing to lose. Shadab kept saying that this was a typical Pindi wicket during the toss, but it hasn't been the same. We didn't bat well. We got off to a decent start; we were looking at 170, and we fell short. When you try to build a new team, sometimes things don't work.

I am disappointed with my performance. I haven't scored runs this season, even though I am expected to score runs. This is one tournament where I have been scoring a lot of runs in the past.

It's a team game. If we had a few more runs, the story might have been different. We'd like some more runs from the top-order.

It was tough for us to play back-to-back games. We did well to win yesterday. It was a bit too tough tonight. We have two games left and we are hoping to do well in the matches at Karachi.

Mir Hamza got fractured last season. He is making up for it as well. It has been a good come back by him. Hamza has done well for us. Really proud of the bowling effort. Muzarabani, Pollard and a few others have done well this season. When needed, Malik bhai has shown his experiences and contributed."
Haider Ali: "Thanks for the almighty for this win. Thankfully, I was able to finish it off for my side.

When you get good partnerships at the top, you always get on the right side of the result. Agha Salman and Shadab Khan played well. We also had Azam Khan in the armoury. Overall, a great game.

I don't have a particular number where I prefer to bat. Wherever the team needs me, I am ready to bat. Tonight, my team needed me to finish and I am happy that I could do the job.

Faheem also had a great game. He said to keep fighting; we will win it.

Also, thanks to Hanif, one of the coaching staff, for the improvement in my game."
Islamabad United have now won the last 8 matches against Karachi Kings, the most for a team against any team in PSL.
23:14 IST, 22:44 Local Time | Islamabad win by 5 wickets and what a clinical performance this has been from them from both bat and ball. A much needed win for them which will lift them up in the points table. Some concerns for Karachi going forward now.

Put to bat first, Karachi Kings were off to a decent start with Seifert playing his strokes inside the powerplay. Shan Masood's poor run continues and was again dismissed cheaply for just 10 runs. James Vince also struggled to find his groove tonight and scored 29 off 27 balls. Pollard looked good lower down the order and scored 39 off 28. They did not get a good finish in the end and managed to post just 150 on the board.

With the ball, the Islamabad United bowlers were top notch tonight and picked up wickets at regular intervals. Tymal Mills and Faheem Ashraf were the top wicket takers and picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Coming to the chase, United were off to a quick start but then lost both their openers in a span of 2 overs. Agha Salman and Skipper Shadab Khan stitched up a good little partnership in the middle and scored 33 and 34 runs respectively. In the end, Haider Ali played a solid cameo of 26* off 16 which helped United seal the victory.

For Karachi, they did not have much to defend on the board and were also a bit expensive tonight. Mir Hamza was a bit expensive but also picked up 3 wickets to his name and was good with the new ball. They will look to bounce back strongly in the next one.

Stay around for the presentations.
18.4 H Ali to H Ali
1 That's the winning runs for Islamabad United! They get a crucial two points in the PSL 2024 and move to the second spot with 9 points. Short and outside the off-stump. 128.9 kmph. Haider stays tall and rolls his wrists, pulling it to deep square leg for a single. Islamabad United win by 5 wickets and push Karachi Kings in deep concern.
18.3 H Ali to H Ali
6 SIXXXX!!!! THE SCORES ARE LEVEL! Smoked for the maximum. These kind of shots is what makes Haider Ali a special talent. 132 kmph. Length delivery outside the off-stump. Haider Ali comes down the pitch, hits through the line and plays a top-class lofted drive over long-off. High and handsome! 105m monster!
18.2 H Ali to H Ali
4 FOURRRR!!! Pulled in the gap for four runs and that should be the game for the United! Bouncer angling into the body of the batter, who takes it on and pulls it hard in the gap behind square in the leg side for a cracking boundary. The man at long leg gives up on the chase early and watches it race away past the boundary cushion.
18.1 H Ali to H Ali
0 Over the wicket. Back of a length, around off, 135.2 kmph, Haider opens the bat face and dabs it to backward point.
