Time to conclude our coverage from the Sunday's double header of PSL. Hope you have enjoyed our coverage. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on the behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay safe, good night.
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "Yes, feeling good. All credit to boys. At toss, I felt 180-190 was good score. I think we started well in the first 6 overs and the way we started we were 10-15 short in the end. The advice was to bowl your best ball and use the size of boundaries well. Just hope for the best for him. Good to see Ayub back into form. Just told him to back instincts and believe in himself. As a captain, you have a lot in the plate and then Rovman Powell's input as West Indies captain helps us a lot. Yes, I always invite communications from the senior players and they are welcome to give their inputs."
Saim Ayub(Player of the Match)- "First of all thanks to the almighty. I just tried to maintain my aggressive approach and it paid off. Sometime it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't. The wicket was better for the batters. We have to assess the conditions well and then decide which target will be safe for us to defend. I always try to bring a positive vibe in the field.

Hanif Mohammad Cap goes to Rassie van der Dussen as he is the leading scorer of the tournament now.
Time for the post match presentations.
Shaheen Afridi (Lahore Qalandars Captain): "I think the wicket was good. Rassie played great. Luck is not on our side and we are losing close games. That's how game goes. The one side is small and one is big. We want the left hand right hand combinations and that's why the batting order. We are missing Haris Rauf. Hope he recovers and all of Pakistan should pray for his recovery. Team is playing well. Fakhar has not fired but he is a quality player. He will come good soon. Rassie was amazing today and credit to him. Yes, it is difficult. 2-time winners and we are facing the heat. Hope to come back stronger in the next games."
Paul Walter: "Yes, I mean. Luckily, I had good amount of runs and had a long boundary to defend. Luckily, the first ball did not go for six and kept it away from shorter sides. Tough conditions out there. Saim Ayub and Rassie were terrific today. Yes, it was an important game and good to win today. Umar Gul gives good advice. Darren Sammy has been extremely supportive to us. Hope we do well."
23:22 IST and 22:52 Local Time | There are only a few days when somebody who has lost steals the limelight from the winner. There are only a few rare days when a tragic hero gets celebrated widely. Today the entire crowd has appreciated the Protea batter. He has played like a champion. Take a bow Rassie van der Dussen! He has been the lone warrior in the innings for the Lahore side but it was unfortunate for him to be on the losing side.

Batting first in the game, the Peshawar Zalmi side had set the foundation of a gargantuan total riding on the brilliant opening partnership by the duo of Saim Ayub and Babar Azam. Both the batters converted the bat balls to boundaries and brought up the 100 run partnership between them, maintaining a decent run rate. Babar Azam got out contributing 48 runs off 36 balls with 5 boundaries and the opening partnership was of 136 runs from 86 legal deliveries. But the other opener, Saim Ayub continued to hit big and he mustered 88 runs facing 55 balls with 8 boundaries and 4 maximums. But the momentum was well carried by Rovman Powell. Powell added 46 runs to the team total at a strike rate of 230 hitting 5 boundaries and a couple of maximums. Mohammad Haris' cameo of 12 runs was essential for Zalmi as they reached 211 losing 4 wickets after 20 overs.

Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi took 3 wickets and Jahandad Khan took a wicket for the Lahore Qalandars.

Chasing the run, the Lahore Qalandars lost both of their openers cheaply. In-form opener Sahibzada Farhan got out for 15 off 12 balls and Fakhar Zaman contributed only 4. But Rassie van der Dussen was impressive from the start and hit the bad balls for boundaries. He got good assistance from Shai Hope with whom, he contributed 71 runs from 48 balls in their partnership of the 3rd wicket. Hope got out for 29 from 23 balls and Ahsan Bhatti joined Rassie in the crease. Bhatti added 20 runs off 13 balls and after his departure, the storm of Rassie-Jahandad duo started. Jahandad added 3 boundaries against Salman Irshad in the 18th over and reduced the target to 34 from final two overs. Luke Wood came to bowl the penultimate over and got hit for boundary in the first ball but came back brilliantly in the next three balls. But Rassie had hit a maximum to complete his century in that over and the target was reduced to 18 off the final over. Paul Walter bowled well and helped his team to win the game by just 8 runs. Credit goes to Rassie van der Dussen who remained unscathed till the end posting 105 runs beside his name with 7 boundaries and 6 maximums.

Naveen-ul-Haq took a couple of wickets. Luke Wood, Paul Walter and Salman Irshad took a wicket each.

19.6 P Walter to C Brathwaite
6 SIX! Brathwaite finishes the match in style! But it does not matter. Lahore falls short of the target as Peshawar Zalmi wins by 8 runs. Fuller length delivery and in the slot, Brathwaite takes it on and lofts it straight down the ground over the bowler's head. The ball sails into the stands for the maximum. Too little too late as Lahore slips to their 5th defeat in as many matches.
19.5 P Walter to C Brathwaite
0 Back of a length slower ball outside off, Brathwaite swings and misses to the keeper.
Carlos Brathwaite comes out to bat.
