ROHIT SHARMA, AS EXPECTED, HANGS UP HIS BOOT FROM T20 INTERNATIONALS! Skipper signs off in style! Two G.O.A.T cricketers of the Men in Blue have had their moments in T20Is and have cheerfully said goodbye!
TEAM INDIA, THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD! Second T20 WC Title for the Men in Blue! End of an 11-year-old drought for ICC silverware! End of a 13-year-old drought for an ICC World Cup. End of a 17-year-old thirst for a T20 WC! Rohit Sharma was there when India won the inaugural title in South Africa in 2007. He was a rookie then but now has led the team from the front to give the crores of Indians joy for a lifetime!

End of Rahul Dravid's coaching career, a fitting farewell to the coolest man in the world. End of Virat Kohli's T20I career! What a way to end it! What a stage to hang your boots up in the T20Is! He finishes as a World Cup winner and finishes it with a POTM performance! King Kohli now has all three white-ball trophies in his cabinet! A last jewel in his crown for the King! He is dancing to the music along with the rest of the players. The Indian players are in a circle and carry Dravid before celebrating him by throwing up and catching him a few times.

Rohit stood up with his aggressive batting. Pant with his crazy approach across departments on the field. SKY putting up his stylish batting display. Hardik Pandya with his all-round prowess. Shivam Dube is turning up at a crucial moment. Jasprit Bumrah showing his class throughout. Arshdeep Singh showing his value. Siraj stepping up when given a chance. Kuldeep pulled off his magic, while Axar Patel, a player who has repaid the trust, kept on him. Jadeja has also given a couple of moments to cherish! Then comes the big man for the occasion. A player who has struggled to even buy a run throughout the competition but rose tall on the big game. Virat Kohli played a gem of an innings and saved his best for the final.

Credit goes to South Africa as well. Aiden Markram, the man who was yet to see defeat, leading Proteas in the World Cups, met India, a spirited India who came on top in the game of nerves!

For now, it's time to enjoy the moment. It's time to sign off from a wonderful tournament held in the USA and the Caribbean Islands. AkshayaKrishna Polya here, a proud text commentator, bidding adieu on behalf of my coolest and most hardworking co-commentators Ajay Pal Singh, Akshay Bhide and Deepak Prakash, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal, presented each and every moment live in front you! We will meet again in another game! Until then, it is cheers!
A lap of honour from the Champions in Barbados. Few players holding the Indian flag with pride. Rohit and Kohli now posing with the Indian flag and the WORLD CUP trophy. Smiles all around. Once in a lifetime moment 🀌🏻
Rohit Sharma stylishly and slowly walks towards the stage and receives the trophy from Jay Shah and Greg Barclay. It was Kuldeep Yadav who asked Hitman for a duckwalk heading into the podium. A moment inspired from Lionel Messi who did the same when Argentina won the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The celebrations begin. The support staff members join the players. Head coach Rahul Dravid takes the trophy who shows great emotions while lifting it. They now pose in front of the 'CHAMPIONS' board. That's what they are, THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD.

Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Vey hard to sum up. What we have been through for the last 3-4 years. We worked really hard for this as individuals and as a team. The work that has gone behind the scenes. It is not what we did today but what have been doing for a long time. Guys do understand when the pressure is on, what needs to be done. We stuck as a team, at one point, it was going towards South Africa's way. But we held our nerves. A lot goes in behind the scenes to win a tournament. Throughout the tournament, we were fantastic.

We wanted this really bad, a lot of mind needs to come together, very proud of the bunch of boys and the management, giving us the liberty to play and that trust. Starts from management, coach, captain, and the players.

Look, nobody was in doubt about form of Virat Kohli. He has been on top for 15 years, we knew come the big stage, he will stand up for us. He took care of an end and others played around him. Virat had to play a role today and he did that perfectly. Axar's knock was brilliant to get us to that total.

I can understand you guys trying to put it down in words, I have been seeing him (Jasprit Bumrah) for many years, I know what he brings to the table, but how he does that is truly remarkable. Whatever he does, he does it perfectly. Jasprit Bumrah to put in one word is just brilliant. I am very proud of the boys. Hardik was brilliant, to bowl that last over, proud of the boys.

(Speaking about fan support in the World Cup) Absolutely fantastic, all the way from Barbados, millions of fans watching at home, it is midnight over there but I am sure many are still tuned in and watching us."
It is time for Indian players to collect their winners medals.
